Need new cheap clothes for vacation! Any suggestions?

  • I am going to Mexico in mid march and will need to buy new "summer" clothes for my trip. I will try to wear some of my old stuff from this past summer but I know most of it is already too big for me. Does anybody have any suggestions as to where I can buy a few outfits like tops, capris, shorts etc for this trip that will be fairly cheap? I'm staying on my diet and I dont want to spend a fortune on summer clothes especially since I'm hoping, NO, I know I will be thinner this summer so they won't fit. I don't wait to waste a bunch of money. Any thoughts or ideas? I would do Torrid and Lane Bryant, but I'm a full time student and only working retail so their stuff can get pretty spendy for me. thanks!

  • Forever 21! They have a new line of "extended sizes." I don't know how their bottoms run, but their tops are great. Target has great stuff too.
  • I second Target. They always have clearance stuff. If you have a Belk in your area I would also try that. They are always have clearance then discounts on top of the clearance prices. I always have people complimenting me on my clothes and I never spend more than $5 on a single piece of clothing, unless it's a pair of jeans.

  • Hi... Old Navy has a nice selection of summer clothes, woman's sizes are exclusively on-line... they have some really cute tops and capris... $15-35...
Good luck and have a great time on vacation..
  • I'm a total cheapskate, so I'd suggest looking at any 2nd-hand stores you have in your area. I find lots of good clothes that "rich" people give away and don't have to spend any real money on them-you know, pants, shorts, tops for $2. Really great places when you're still in transition like I am!

    Enjoy your vacation!
  • If you have a Cato's near you you can get really cheap really cute stuff.
  • You want cheap but cute? Either (as someone else mentioned) thift shop, or, believe it or not, try the Family Dollar, or Dollar General. They have very cute, very cheap clothes in almost every size, though you may want to carry a small sewing kit with you as if you are active, you might have to reinforce a seam or two.
