In a good rhythm....

  • Hello fat chicks!

I have been working out consistently for 2 weeks now and i feel really good about it. I went to the doctor and lost 6lbs already...i didnt think it was possible but once you start and hear results (i cant see anything yet) it helps to keep going. Thanks to all you ladies for the support-the posts are a great inspiration.... any words of wisdom to keep it consistent? i tend to get bored easily and frustrated and then stop.

  • on your weightloss so far... I get bored easily too in order to help that boredom I change my workouts almost weekly, play mind games, and some days I just do it for 5 minutes, then the rest takes care of itself...

Good luck and keep up the great work!!
  • For me I had to find something that I fell in love with and I haven't had a problem with wanted to work out. I started running at the beginning of Jan. and love the challenge it brings! I've set myself up two goals (races) to keep myself going and absolutely love it so far! I think changing up your workout routines though is a great idea especiallly if you get bored easily. Maybe get a few different workout videos and alternate them when you feel the need.
  • thanks for the advice!
i am asking for a Wii and Wii Fit game for bday to add some fun to my workouts. music has been my saving grace...
  • Congrats on the progress thus far. It sounds like you're doing well.

I try to mix up my workouts as much as possible to ward of boredom. Yoga one day, an aerobic DVD the next, circuit training on the treadmill the day after that, bellydancing after that, a hike in the woods another day... so on and so forth. And when all else fails and I'm really unmotivated I bargain with myself. Instead of saying I need to do 30 minutes of working out I'll walk or circuit train and put a distance limit on it. I'll tell myself I can stop at a distance just slightly longer than my personal best OR I have to go to my usual time limit, whichever comes first. Psychologically I can trick myself into thinking I have an easy workout ahead because I can get off earlier than my time limit, but then I end up pushing myself to get to that distance faster and so it ends up making me really sweat. I find those are the best workouts on non-motivated days, the ones that make you feel really good, very empowered when you're done.
