Low calorie intake, all junk

  • I'm not planning on doing this, but I was just curious if anyone had -
Has anyone ever done a very calorie restrictive diet (like under 800 or 1000 calories a day, say) but all junk, like mostly sweets or junk food? When I read the tabloids it seems like a lot of the very thin celebrities do this, eat nothing but like 2 candy bars all day. Because of the raised blood sugar/reduced ability to metabolize fat/etc that comes with eating junk food, it almost seems like eating only 500 calories of junk food a day might actually result in the same fat loss as a like 1300 calorie diet that was actually healthy, low gi foods full of the vitamins etc that your body needs. Anybody else have any thoughts on this?
  • I don't know, but it just sounds like a very good way to destroy your body's metabolism, amongst other negative effects. Also, are you sure that a lot of the thin celebrities do this? It doesn't sound like something that is sustainable and very bad, especially, for someone with a history of diabetes because the blood sugar would drop very quickly. I would think that the metabolism slow down so much that the only weight loss that would result would be from water weight and/or muscle loss (the body is starving and, thus, tries to eat its own muscle). Anyway, it sounds like a horrible, horrible idea and I'm really glad to know that you're not considering it.
  • my friend who is slim eats like this
