dry brushing?

  • has anyone tried dry brushing or looked into it?
  • What *is* dry brushing?
  • Dry brushing is good for exfoliating the skin and circulation. Other than that, it doesn't have benefits (ie won't prevent loose skin).
  • funny you mentioned it - i JUST started dry brushing last week, and i LOVE it. I think it feels amazing. at the beginning it kind of hurt a little, but now i think it just feels very invigorating. and my skin has never felt softer! some sources claim it can help get rid of cellulite, but i doubt it has that, or i think every woman in america would be doing it!

Anyway, you should try it! Like Nelie said, great for circulation (you can feel it really gets the blood going!) and theres nothing better to exfoliate the skin.
  • im all for soft skin! lol i figured it was know miracle way of fixing skin but it seemed to have other benefits so I wanted to make sure people actually tried it and I wasnt the only one groomig myself haha i may be stopping at store tonight! lol
  • do you do it daily? or would that cause like a rash? lol
  • Hey Firecracker - sorry its taken me so long to respond - but yes, I do do it daily, every morning right before i get in the shower!
  • What kind of brush are y'all successful dry-brushers using?
I had tried it out, and have very sensitive, dry skin. I think the brush I used - just plastic bristle, was too much for me.
  • the kind of brush definitely makes a difference! I've read that you're supposed to use a natural bristle brush, i think I got mine at Target? Def. not the plastic ones - ouch! And always brush towards the heart!

I think this is a good article on the basics of dry brushing:

  • I haven't done it personally but a friend of mine who is very into Chinese medicine and all things natural always tells me to do it. She's 42 and looks like she's 30 so I really need to start listening to her.

what a great endorsement there was a thread around here, in looking great I think, that had many responses and you tube links. I think it can do only good but cannot be miraculous
