Hi everybody. I'm online earlier than usual but still missed you all by a couple of hours or more, I bet.
Ruth - you've gotta KNOW that I bake pies. How do you think I got this way.

I actually make quite a nice pie crust and I really enjoy baking just about anything. However, due to my slight problem with carbs, this is not an activity I engage in very often any more. I did bake a nice batch of double chocolate chip cookies last week and didn't even taste a nibble. Most of them were sent off to Scotland with #2 daughter's birthday gifties. Happy to say they were appreciated by both her and her DH. Also, thrilled that the dress and two of the tops I sent her were a good fit and "acceptable". In fact, she said I "did good" which is high praise indeed. I can hardly wait to see her in October. So glad I thought of using my Aeroplan miles to get her a freebie ticket. She would have felt so bad to miss her best friend's wedding.
Sherrie if your youngster doesn't usually wet the bed, it's possible she has a bit of a cold. That always seems to make my bladder weaker. Also, has she been swimming a lot? It could be a slight chill. OR, she just played too hard during the day and was so deeply asleep that she wasn't even aware that she had to go.
Samsgrandma sounds like you had fun at the ballgame. I can't remember the last time I went to one of those. The food is deadly though. I'd be swollen up like the Goodyear blimp.
Jenny good for you getting to the Y. It's true that you do feel better all day with some morning exercise. I did 1-1/2 hour of pool exercises this morning. Some of it was length swimming, some of it was just water jogging and some of it was weight resistance. It was 1/2 hour longer than I usually do because I was waiting for a friend who said she might be late but she never did show up. Now I'm pretty pooped.
I like going to bed when there's thunder and lightening too. Neither of our kids was ever afraid of storms because we turned them into a watchable event. Of course, we also tried to teach them a little healthy respect for them too.
I think your little fellow is so enterprising. Imagine selling maple seeds to raise money! That is so sweet. A budding ecologist there?
L- too bad about your kidlet getting a crick in his neck and messing up your plans. I hope he'll be ok tho. I also hope you get to have some time to yourself. It's so important for our mental health to have some "me time".
Speaking of mental health...uh....LEENS???? You gonna be ok?
Pooky keeping fingers crossed that you get some good news today.
Princess Jihan I hope you get your medical problems straightened out. It sure isn't any fun feeling under the weather, especially in mid summer. Take care.
Another hot day here. I have boiled some eggs for deviled eggs for dinner tonight. I have a cold bbq chicken in the fridge and the makings for a nice tomato salad. DH can have a couple of dinner rolls with his.
I went out and purchased the Fat Flush Plan book yesterday. It makes a lot of sense and I'm thinking of giving it a trial next week perhaps. It could be a major problem for somebody who is eating a lot of starchy things and likes a lot of coffee but those have been pretty much eliminated from my diet for some time. The only problem I might have with the plan is doing without salt. I do like my salt I'm afraid.

I've been reading up on some other forums and some people have had fantastic results with this diet plan. It's supposed to detoxify the liver thereby flushing out stored fats. I'll let you know if and when I start it. I have to get some of the supplements first. BTW, some of the things the author suggests make good sense with ANY weight loss plan. She recommends natural cranberry juice diluted in lots of pure water - 8 glasses a day. How bad can that be for you? She also recommends Evening Primrose Oil and Flaxseed oil to help flush out those fat cells.
Anyhow, that's all for now.
