Lt. Sour Cream vs Regular Sour Cream?

  • In the Atkins Carb Counter book, it lists light sour cream as having 2 grams of carbs, and then it lists regular sour cream as having 1.2 grams of carbs. Is this right? So, when needed, should I eat the regular instead of the low-fat? (I used to do WW, so I'm needing a little help on the lowfat/ff/regular products).

    Thanks!

On Atkins, yes, you would eat the full fat version.
The concept of Atkins is that fat is burned for energy rather than carbohydrates.
  • If you are on Atkins eat the regular instead of low fat. If you read the labels on almost any low fat or fat free product they are lower in fat but make up for it with added sugar, hence the higher carb count. And if you are doing Atkins you also have to avoid the sugar. So there you have it.
  • Thanks so much! I ordered the Diet Revolution and the cookbook, and looked through the carb counter book thinking, "Whoa, this is different!" Good different, though. Low fat/ff dairy isn't that good...

    Thanks again!
