Newbie saying hello!

  • Hi there everyone. I'm Sarah from Oklahoma and I'm thrilled to find this forum. I'm a single 31 year old woman. And after years of yo yo dieting, something has finally clicked in my brain. The weight is finally coming off. Since December 2008, I've lost 60 pounds.

The thing is, I didn't realize what a challenge this all was mentally. As I lose more weight, I'm having to face the issues that made me eat. It is so tiring and I was worried I was going nuts.

I've already read a bunch of stories and can SO relate. Especially the low self esteem that tries to sabotage your journey. I'm happy to find you all and look forward to jumping in and giving support to those who have the same struggles.

  • Welcome!! You'll find lots of great support here!!!
  • Congratulations on your weight loss so far. I started my journey on 1/2 of this year. I refuse to be held hostage by my weight. To that extent, I am on the verge of purchasing a gym membership and I am eating right. I refuse to enter grad. school in 2013 being overweight.
  • Welcome, Sarah! I am so glad you are joining us.

I wish you the best on your weight loss journey!

    Cheers,

    J
  • Hi Sarah!
Welcome to YoYo Central! So many of us have lost only to gain it back (& more) - congrats on your success so far - the support you need is here - we'll all be here to cheer you on.

Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated and inspired - you'll be a wonderful addition to any of them giving support to others facing the same challenges. Try the 30 somethings and the weight loss support forums, they're active and very helpful - also the Success stories are a definite must for motivation.

There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here since last fall, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of going off track or giving up. It has made all the difference in my success so far.

So welcome - you've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired!

All the best - good luck with your goals,
    Lee
