  • Hi Everyone. Have visited and posted to the Sugar Busters! Board at 3FC before, but not WW. I feel I do best on a low carb diet, but for reasons too complicated to get into right now, I'm not able to do the low carb right now. Anyway, my Mom (who is an MS patient) and I have started WW Online and are meeting with some success as we make our way. Am waiting for some kind soul from the WW board to send me a couple of the paper slides (she has two excess ones) so that I can have that handy dandly little device with me while I shop. Am considering discontinuing my paid membership with WW and just utilizing the program basics, my handy dandy slide, YOUR support and encouragement as well as my mother's. Anyone have any thoughts on that? Think it can be done effectively without paying for it, in other words? I think so! Hope to get to know some of you better soon. Right now, I've got to get busy working! Thx and good luck.
  • Hi, Kangablue! I think it is entirely possible to do WW at home without spending the bucks. I have been doing it for several months now. My mom is a member and she copied all the materials for me. She even made me a slide rule, then gave me her old one when she got a new one. She also copies the recipes for me. As of this morning, I am down 17 pounds. It is harder to do it this way, knowing that I don't have to face another person at the scale, but I think something has finally clicked for me. I am dabbling with low carbs in conjunction with the point system. I am trying to eat less refined carbs and stick with whole wheat pasta, bread, etc. and brown rice. I don't rule out the regular stuff, because it is cheaper, but I try to keep it to a minimum. It seems to be working because I am having less cravings now in the last 3 weeks or so. Good Luck!
