  • Im gonna be 22 soon and i feel old..lol seriously anyway i heard this song and was reminded of my childhood. Just curious what songs bring you back to your youthful years..here are a few that get me thinking about my youth..lol
    My childhood songs are..
    somewhere out there..from fievel
if we hold on togethere.. from a land before time
lol even the happy days theme song My dad used to watch it...
  • I love "Somewhere Out There"..that song is so sad!!!

    Here's mine
    Nasty~Janet Jackson
    Cherish~Madonna
    I Wanna Be Down~Brandy
    Creep~TLC
    I'm Every Woman~Whitney Houston
    Dreamlover~Mariah Carey
    Whatta Man~Salt N Pepa
    Dreaming of You~Selena
    My Lovin~En Vogue

They're not the most age appropriate songs for when I was young, lol. I was like 9/10..and I didn't understand any of them. I just liked them, because I could dance around to them. They used to be played all the time on MTV..you know, back when MTV actually PLAYED music videos!!!

I did rock out to the Little Mermaid & Beauty & Beast soundtracks too..lol.

btw..I'm going to be 25 soon, so you're not that old. I'm old!!!!!!!
  • wow...i'm 31 and not only can i recall some of the early sesame street songs, other ones include the score from annie, the electric company (the one with morgan freeman) nu shoes, and el debarge
  • My favorite song when I was little was Wild West by Culture Club. My dad finally bribed me with a new tape player if I would give him the tape. Guess he was sick of it.
  • torileigh..lol my family always jokes that i had an imagenary audience to sing and dance for.. I though of a new one the chipmuncks christmas songs i would play that over and over untill one day the tape magically dissapeared..lol
  • The Age of Aquarius. My parents used to play that a LOT. Every time I hear it, I think of being a kid and singing "This is the dawning of the age of SAGITTARIUS" since that's my sign.

Tori, it was The Escape Club that did Wild West. I knew it wasn't Culture Club, I was a huge fan of Boy George and the gang back in the early 80's.
  • "Born to be wild"! I would listen to it all the time and was ecstatic when it came on on Alvin and the Chipmunks.
  • C'est La Vie - Bewitched

I remember dancing around my room singing this song and now when I hear it... all the innuendo! I was so naive. =)

Anything by Michelle Branch usually triggers a childhood memory.

Oh and the Pocahontas soundtrack! It HAD to be playing EVERY night, or I wouldn't be able to fall asleep. My poor parents!
  • i'm old- new kids on the block!!! oh man i was the biggest joey fan ever.
some of the other first things i listened to when i noticed music around 9 or 10...

    Roxette (still love them)
    Debbie Gibson
the sound track to Dirty Dancing

as a little little kid there are a few memory songs. my aunt used to sing one to me i don't know what it's called something about "i've got a brand new pair of roller skates you've got a brand new key" and my mom had one she'd sing to me about "there was a king with a big gold ring ..." i can't find that one online anywhere.
Also thanks to mom I listened to a lot of Abba, Supertramp, and Simon and Garfunkel.

oh and speaking of tapes that go missing. my moms favorite tape ever was Leo Sayer and dad and i freaking hated it. We conspired to "lose" it when we moved and she was never the wiser.

and my little brother drove me crazy with that chipmunks tape. i shudder to think of it still.
  • Real childhood would be I am a stegosaurus song. LOL.
    Also, you are my sunshine

But as a child I loved Madonna's like a prayer and salt n' peppa!!! =P

ps... I remember my 22 like it was yesterday and it was a hard one. No more "big" dates after 21. You actually really feel like an adult. I hope your 22nd is awesome though!
  • lol the stegosaurus song.. i loved it..

  • Trying to think along the lines of theme songs and Bonanza theme comes to mind...along with Hawaii 5-O.....Leave It To Beaver theme...oh and of course the whistle of Andy Griffith.....

When my son...almost 29 now....was still crawling he would crawl from any room in the house Fast....really fast...to the TV when the M.A.S.H. theme song came on....his mommy fed him at the same time everyday watching MASH....cute...very cute....
  • I was about 4th-5th grade when cd's first started coming out, I got Debbie Gibson and The Jets! And still have the cd's!!!!
Loved anything I could dance to. (still do )

I also remember when Don't Worry, Be Happy was my lil sisters favorite. She was about 2 and was so cute trying to sing. (i m 8 years older)
  • Well I have many songs from my childhood but this one is my favorite from High School. This is really going to show my age but it is from Whitesnake "Here I Go Again On My Own"... going down the only road I've ever known, like a drifter I was born to walk alone so here I go again on my own!!! LOVE IT!!! Long hair and tight pants!!!!!!!!
