p90x?

  • Has anyone tried this? How fit do you need to be for this to be successful? It looks very interesting to me, but I don't want to spend so much money on a program if its unrealistic for someone at my weight. I looked up videos on youtube to see results and it seems like everyone who are doing it started off looking fairly in shape. I got the impression it was just for muscle toning?

Any other suggestions for videos or programs to get involved in?
  • If you go to the exercise video forum, there's a whole thread on P90x, complete w/ personal experiences. Lots of good information! I just ordered it and am waiting for it to come in, so I can't give a personal view yet. Good luck!!

  • Here is one thread although there might be others:

I just finished week one and it might be my favorite DVD collection yet.
  • I think the workouts are good. I think some of their nutritional advice is ummmm....not good. Anytime you have to buy some fake food to make up for some "lack" in real food there is a problem IMO.
  • Maybe I didn't read the nutritional information completely but I didn't notice any fake food mentioned although I think they do sell shakes/drinks/etc but that is part of the $$$. Also, I believe Tony Horton, who designed the exercise program didn't design the nutritional program.
