Greetings from North Carolina!

  • I'm not new to forums but I AM new to weight loss forums. Hello from NC, USA!! I joined another weight loss forum this week and was quite dissatisfied (it focused only on different types of diets, didn't focus on either healthy eating OR exercise) and found this one. I'm glad I did.

I'm Martina, and I'm almost 33. I live in a small town in North Carolina but I am originally from Atanta, GA. I live with my (now ex) Boyfriend and his Mom (my ex and I are still great friends).

At the current moment my weight is 209 pounds. I am five foot two. I'm a size 18-22 depending on the clothing. I want to get back into a size 12 and work on being really toned and fit while I am at it. I am a big advocate of healthy eating and exercise and am trying to get back into doing both. I want to get to a healthy weight without being too thin. I used to be 92 pounds when I was 18 and it looked awful on me, so I don't want to go that far.

Anyways, I hope to get to know you all.
  • Hi Martina!

We hope to get to know you too! I think you'll be happy with 3FC - lots of great advice, support, and inspiration to be found. See you around the boards!

  • Hi Martina!
How smart to make your priority to get healthy and fit, not just being on a diet or a specific number on the scale - the support you need is here - we'll all be here to cheer you on.

Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated and inspired - you'll be a wonderful addition to any of them. There's also info and first hand advice on different eating plans and exercise to help get through the ups and downs. Try the 30 something forum and the weightloss support forum, they're active and very helpful - also the Success Stories are a definite must!

There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here a few months myself, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of going off track or giving up. It has made all the difference in my success so far.

So welcome - you 've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired!

All the best - good luck with your goals,
    Lee
