I don't get it?

  • I think there is something wrong with my new wii, i have been exercising on it every day and sticking to my diet but it says i have put on 2 lbs how can that happen it also says my bmi is swinging all over the place.
  • sounds a bit dodgy to me...probs something up with the wii game
although when i started exercising first off i put on 3lbs...dont know why think i was drinking more water all the time but then it stepped up and i was losing 1lb per week
  • im not sure how accurt the wii is for weight. i can weigh myself 5 times in a row on it and go up and down in weight......
  • I've not had my Wii for very long either but it seems fairly similar to my bathroom scale readings (although my scale doesn't measure such minute variations - it doesn't even do 1/2lbs) which has been consistently 1lb lower than WW meeting scales for years. My weight tends to fluctuate on a daily basis a little even when losing weight on a weekly basis, so I'm tempted to ditch daily body tests and stick to doing it the same day as my weigh-in because it gets a wii bit demoralising (groan).

Somewhere in the menu you can test the board function, I think. Can't remember where right now, though.
  • your bmi can't swing all over the place if the difference is 2lbs dear. you may get a 0.1 change max. make sure your details haven't changed i.e your height. if the height is the same as ever and the bmi is very different i.e more than 0.5 out from before then there is a problem with the game software.
  • I use the wii to weigh myself everyday and had this problem when i first started.

First of all weigh yourself at the same time everyday and also try make sure your as central as possible.. otherwise you will notice a substantial fluctuation in your bmi.

    hope this helps
  • Well now it says i've lost 3 lbs, which is great. I have decided to only do a body test once a week rather than everyday like the game suggests because that may have been why i was getting funny results.

Btw the boxing is really good for release of aggression.
  • Yeh they are touchy I have mine on a board because its useless on carpet don't worry about it. I laugh at mine
  • I agree with Cat90 about carpet - mine is on carpet and as a result weighs me as less than my scales do - they also weigh lighter if I place them on the carpet. I therefore totally ignore the BMI/weight result from the Wii - but am having great fun with the exercises, and having it has been a real boon whilst we have this dreadful weather as I haven't been able to get to gym as much as I would like because of the car being snowed in.
