292 lbs of newbie!

  • Hello! I'm Kim and I'm a fat chick. (helooo Kiiim)

I am a full time office manager and a mother of 2 little girls. I have been overweight since puberty and have climbed to a dangerous weight for a woman approaching 40.

I feel tired and uncomfortable all of the time. That is one reason to get healthy. The other is my children. I have a 2.5 year old and a 6 month old and what kind of example am I setting - assuming I live long enough to set an example?

I begin this year with a new weapon - the wii. I have Fit Plus, Biggest Loser, and 5 other active games to get the heart pumping. I know how to eat right and am doing it. I have been spending lunch time at work surfing the net for diet inspiration. I was told it would take 72 weeks to achieve my goal of 150, so I'm going to be around a while folks. I'm all about positive thinking about this journey, because I am prone to the opposite.
  • Hi Kim! Welcome! Keep coming back...lots'o really smart folks here and lots'o wisdom!
  • Welcome, Kim! You have landed at the right terminal! Keep coming back, there is a wealth of info and support here by all these ladies (and a few gents).
  • Welcome Kim!!
  • Hi Kim!
Sounds like you have your hands full with those two precious little ones -you're off to a great start with a good plan and your priority being health and not just a diet or a number ( very smart) - the support you need is here - we'll all be here to cheer you on.

Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated and inspired - you'll be a wonderful addition to any of them. There's also info and first hand advice on different eating plans and exercise to help get through the ups and downs.

There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here a few months myself, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of going off track or giving up. It has made all the difference in my success so far.

So welcome - you 've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired!

All the best - good luck with your goals,
    Lee
