intro post...

  • Hello. Another newbie here. I'm starting out at my all time high of 257. I was a little under that in 2008 right after I had my third child. I lost all my baby weight and then some in several months.. 1 pound away from my goal of 199 and I don't know what happened but here I am in 2010, almost 60 pounds heavier. My main excuses are that I quit smoking (October 2008, woot!), my treadmill broke, and eating too much with my fiance (he's gained some weight in the last year too). For months now I've been steady b ut I'm ready to LOSE and get back under 200.
  • Welcome, Bernadette! Glad you found us!
  • Hi Bernadette!
Hey, it happens, we lose only to gain it back and more - no looking back, no beating yourself up, just moving forward - the support you need is here - we'll all be here to cheer you on.

Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated and inspired. There's also info and first hand advice on different eating plans and exercise to help choose the right ones for you and get through the ups and downs.

There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here a few months myself, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of going off track or giving up. It has made all the difference in my success so far.

So welcome - you 've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired!

All the best - good luck with your goals,
    Lee

  • Hi Bernadette and welcome.

I'm in Delaware too...Wilmington. Where in the state do you live?

You not only get great support on this site but I've found it also makes me accountable. I mean, who wants to come on and post you gained some weight? You want to come on and report your success.....and I'm finding that this really motivates me. It's like I'm "reporting in".

Have you decided what plan you want to follow? There is just tons of information here on any and every possible diet out there....another great thing about this site.
