  • Hi Everyone

I have decided to bit the bullet and get in shape. Enough of the watching the Biggest Loser, while eating and sitting on the couch!

I started today with exercising.. Slim in 6, start it up and couch to 5 k program. My plan is to do Slim in 6 every day, couch to 5 k every 2nd day. I hope to lose at least 44 lbs, could lose more, but I'll address that when I get close to 140lbs.

Looking for some support, cause I am LAZY!!! Need someone to give me a swift kick in the butt (large butt, not hard to miss.. lol)

My food goal is to eat a healthy diet, 3 meals and 2 snacks per day as right now I am guilty of eating 1 big meal and grazing on crap food the rest of the day!

Thanks for reading, and looking forward to NOT quitting!
  • What is slim in 6 and couch to 5k program? Welcome to 3fc
  • By the way I am a canuk too
  • Hi Candi

Slim in 6 is a diet/exercise program that I bought from the infommercials on TV. In general, a diet and arobics program that increases in intensity for 6 weeks. The first week or so is only a 25 minute work out, then gets longer as you get in better shape.

Couch to 5 k is a running plan. Gets you gradually going. I found it on the Cool Running website.

Nice to meet another Canadian on here. Are you freezing your butt off too?
  • Welcome to 3FC and good luck with your goals.

  • Hi tilaf!
Sounds like you're ready to go with a good plan - the support you need is here - we'll all be here to cheer you on.

Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated and inspired - you'll be a wonderful addition to any of them. There's also info and first hand advice on different eating plans and exercise to help get through the ups and downs.

There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here a few months myself, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of going off track or giving up. It has made all the difference in my success so far.

So welcome - you 've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired!

All the best - good luck with your goals,
    Lee
