Where to find jeans for apple shapes (big waist, no butt) that's not stretch denim.

  • Just a heads up, for those of you that are apple shaped like me. I went to Wally World today with my $40 gift card to look for jeans, and first looked in the women's section at the JMS (Just My Size) jeans. They were $20 and rather cheaply made. I wanted to get some sewing supplies, including $20 pinking shears, and didn't want to only be able to get 2 things with my card, so I put the jeans back and wandered on to the other side of the store.

As I came back toward the sewing section, I happened upon the men's clothes section, and lo and behold, jeans for $8! As the jeans I was wearing at the time are mens, I grabbed some different sizes and styles and went to the dressing room. The first pair I tried fit great! The brand is Faded Glory and they weren't on sale or clearance.

So, if you have trouble finding jeans in the womens section, ones that fit your waist, but bag in the butt and legs, try the mens section. Obviously you'll save some money too. I left the store with my jeans, pinking shears, 2 yards of fabric, and 2 cans of 3 bean salad. I was a happy camper.
  • Oooh. Good to know! My favorite jeans ever were a few hand-me-down pairs from one of my brothers when I was about 15 and for some reason it never crossed my mind that I might like men's jeans better...on purpose! lol
  • I have to switch between womens and men from time to time. as my weigh drops, my waist on down became more angular...kinda like a railroad spike shape, but larger. I enjoyed the comfort i got from guys jeans until low-risers and skinny guy jeans got popular. my butt was just to big to pull off the look.

for womens jeans of the apple variety, Lane Bryant's right fit yellow might be good for you.
  • I have a pair of the Right Fit jeans, the only thing I dislike is that they are stretch denim and feel like they are crawling down my thighs after a few minutes of wear. I like my jeans to stay put.
