Trying to get back here again

  • Sigh. It has been an awful year for me. I was already struggling last year with a metabolism shift that I was having a hard time adjusting for (and a personal issue that was leaving me struggling mentally) when I got injured and then in July I got sick and then injured again. I've been sick since the second week in July, nothing that makes the Dr.s pay any attention. It's just a (cold, ear infection, cold, pinkeye, earinfection, cough, cold, ear infection...etc)

Short story long I am up 30 lbs. I had to break down today and rebuy fat clothes.

What I haven't been able to figure out the last 2 years has been something that I can stick to. Not like me at all. I've been very scattered in all areas of my life.

It is so hard NOT to try and crash down to something palatable by April when I go to boston. 30 lbs. That is not a quickie plan.

Step one will be trying to figure out where my new loss level is, it sure isnt where it was before, not even close.
  • Oh Ennay, I am so sorry to hear of your illness.. It must be SO frustrating to have doctors brush off your very real symptoms and not draw any conclusions.

I am glad that you're back! You are one smart, tough, and determined lady and you WILL figure this all out. Before you know it, you'll be stringing together back to back to back on plan days/weeks and you will chip away and chip away at each and every one of those 30 lbs.

Wishing you all the best. And please, please stick around! We are here for you.
  • Ennay! I'd wondered where you'd gone.

Gosh, the medical issue must be frustrating. Have they tested you for allergies to things that might be in the home...mold, etc? Injuries are also so frustrating.

OK, so you have some work to do. But you're here! So welcome back!
  • WELCOME BACK, ENNAY ~ I agree: the important thing is that you are back! You've done this before, so you can do it again; 30 lbs is very doable. I don't know what plan you were on before, but maybe just a balanced calorie plan might work better for you. Hope you are feeling well soon too ...
  • Every time I see a post of yours, I think "Oh there's Ennay" but this is the first new post I've seen in a long time. I'm so glad to see you!

Come on back to featherweights Ennay. They accepted me wholeheartedly, even with my extra 30+ pounds back. We'll just keep trying together, OK?
  • Ennay! I missed you too!

My weight has come up some, too--but only in the last 6 months. That's a whole long story that I won't get into here. Just keep in mind that it's not the end of the world--you can stop the upward creep!

I think that for some of us, the weight we would like to be is (a) unreachable, or (b) unsustainable in the long term. The only way to find out is to see what happens.

Your recurring symptoms do sound like they could be allergy-related, and also they could be stress-related. Stress is hard on the immune system as well as leading to weight gain in some people. I'm not a doctor, though. Perhaps you need some rest and TLC.

Anyway, I'm glad to see you back here! And I hope to see you around more often.

    Jay
  • Hope you'll get well soon.

Anyway you are now focusing on the solution. That's all that matters.
  • Wb
WB...The fact that you have returned screams alot!

I fell off the wagon for awhile due to all the change that was happening in my life. I feel like I'm at a place where I want to give myself the focus again.
  • Hi Ennay,

  • WOW! they are growing up!

I still think they are too young for tattoos....wink!
  • From the looks of things it wasn't such a bad year after all - just look how outrageously beautiful your children are - and apparently quite brilliant too!
