I weighed more then I thought I did...

  • I just went for a check up at the doctor, I've been feeling slightly off the past week or so..he said I've got a cold.

    ANYWAYS,

the subject of my weight loss came up. He said he was impressed and it was good that I was trying at that to go from 251 to 198 is a GREAT achievement...

    and I was like wait...251?!?!

I thought my high weight was 245...where did this 251 come from?...He said that was the highest weight that was recorded at one of my doctors visits...

I'm in shock. I didn't know I was that big...245 was big enough, but I actually made it over 250?!...I'm so frustrated with myself right now for getting that big...Its so upsetting to hear that...

It also changes things a little bit...

If my high weight was 251, that means I have to lose 91 lbs to get to my original goal of 160...and lately I've been thinking about making that goal 150...so that would be 101 lbs! I have to lose over 100 lbs?! that's insane....It makes it feel so much further away...

I mean I guess I don't have to lose 100 lbs, I just have to lose 38 lbs to get to 160, or 48 lbs to get to 150...but still...that's crazy.

I don't know why I'm letting it affect me, it doesn't change the weight that I am today, for some reason it's just got me really really upset...

I guess I'll go change my ticker, so I can see how far I've really come (instead of how far I thought I had come)...but still...101 lbs is an overwhelming number. It seems so much further away, even though I know in reality, nothing has changed..

    Idk...
I'll get over this, I know I will. It's just definitely a shock.
  • I am sure it is shocking but don't let it get you down. You have down so wonderfully and this will not hinder your success..you are in Onederland, there's no stopping you now
  • You just can't compare weights on different scales, at different times of day, with different (or any) clothes on!

Six pounds was easily from weighing on a different scale later in the day instead of first thing undressed at home. Easily.

If it were me, I would just go with my own home starting weight.
  • Look at the positive side...youve lost 53 pounds now instead of 47 pounds! Wohooo! Its that much more motivation you have to keep going strong! =) You're doing amazing!
  • When you are 245 lbs, 5 lbs is really not that much on your frame. You seem to be obsessed with numbers and put a lot of emotional investment into them. 90-something lbs to you seems like a lot less than 1 lb over 100, but in reality it isn't. Losing weight is as much psychological as it is physical.
  • I know it's frustrating, but there's no need to look at the big number...you still have the same amount to lose NOW, no matter what you started at.
  • Onederchic, you're so right. I know that I'm going to make it, I've already come so far, and I'm still over half way there...Like I said, it's just shocking. I didn't even ever really feel like I was 245...so knowing I was over 250 just frustrated me a bit.

Julie, My original start weight didn't even come from the scale I use now. It came from a scale where I used to live, and it wasn't taken in the morning like I usually weigh myself...so I don't even know how accurate it was.

Vern, that's definitely how I'm looking at it. I can officially say I've lost over 50 lbs, which is really cool! lol
  • arumaru, you're right. I've always been a little obsessed with the numbers...and it does make sense that it would be hard for me to tell the difference between 251 and 245...when you're that big, it takes 20 lbs at LEAST to see a difference.

Varsity, that's what I'm telling myself now. I still have the same distance left to go, it just means that I've gone farther then I thought.
  • Sounds like you can pick whatever start weight you like, then

  • You have come so far, and finding this out means you've come even FARTHER. And hey, I didn't know you'd reached onederland, so a big & congrats!

    keep up the awesome work!
