Girl from Europe seeking for buddies :-)

  • Hello there! I am kind of enthusiastic in one moment and then not so enthusiastic about that I am finally going to loose weight. Does that sound familiar to you? If does, keep on reading: carrot:

I am 35, have around 103 kg (206 pounds I guess) and I would like to become normal looking. You know - not like a model - just normal looking. When I walk around the town or enter the party that no one could tell - that, the big one - but - you know, normal one :-)

Maybe that sounds stupid but that is my goal and I think I would be really happy achieving it! I am not really sure how and I am not really sure when but I am quite sure I WILL do it.

So, if you would like to join and do it slow ...please hump in :-) I would be glad to have someone to talk to and to support each other :-)

Also, I do have a problems with self-image so I think that will be an issue that I will maybe address even more than food.

I am thinking that I should instead typing here go out tonight and walk around a block. Maybe not too long, but for 20 minutes. Would that be a progress? Because we will not loose weight by typing here  Do I sound cruel?

    Anyone? :-) Hello everybody
  • I forgot to say I am net and chat addict :-)
  • Hey & welcome! I love your determination.. you will DEFINITELY achieve your goals!! And 20 minutes of walking to start out with is AWESOME.. keep it up!!! hope to see you around! :]

  • Welcome to 3FC and good luck with your goals.

    Hugs
    Michelle
  • Hi girls! TXXXX for a worm welcome :-))))

I have to admit something - I just posted here and did not get out. I thought - 20 minutes is nothing and I dont want to go out for one hour, so I will stay in...and THEN! I saw you comments and kurisuh encouraging me that 20 minutes is great and I went out! TXXXX a ton! :-))) I was out for 25 minutes, I know its not a lot but its a start! And i have refreshed my mind so I feeeeeel greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeat! Do the same people! :-))))

It is windy here in Croatia, I think it will snow soon. But I took my scarf and now I feel like a million bucks thanks to you! :-) I forgot my glows, but never mind. I said to myself - If you will wait to be equipped like for the runaway you will never go out! Just go out! And I did it! YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAH!

Now, I will calculate how many calories I can eat a day to loose 2 pounds a week. I think I can do it this time. AND THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BELEAVING IN ME :-)

    p.s.
I hope my English is understandable
  • Hi nomena!
Your English is very understandable - you're doing great!

Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated, inspired and entertained! There's also info and first hand advice on different eating plans and exercise to help choose the right ones for you and get through the ups and downs.

There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here a few months myself, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of cheating or giving up.

So welcome - you 've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired!

All the best - good luck with your goals,
    Lee
  • @leeway, thank you for you kind words, I am sure I will get inspired as you do also! I already am! :-)

As I already sad I went out for a short walk list night and I have to say that was the best thing I ever did for me! Before the walk I felt tired and sleepy and after it I felt energized and did some ironing! And reading the magazine until the 2 o clock! What an effect from 20 minutes of air! I can not believe it! I am so happy because of it!

This morning I am keeping up with my plans. I did eat breakfast (bljak) - an apple, sliced to small peaces. And in the afternoon I am going for a swim to a local swimming pool! I do that sometimes because it keeps my skin more elastic?

Do you have pools near by?
  • Hi Nomena
I just replied to another post of yours welcome!

I'm in the Netherlands, on the German border actually and I see you live in Croatia, wow!!! Gorgeous country!

So we are almost in the same time zone and I started off the beginning of this year at 99KG and yesterday I saw the number 80 on my home scale I totally understand about wanting to look normal! With your determination, I'm sure you will reach your goals!

If you want to chat I'm on MSN, yahoo, Blackberry chat, google... contact me further for my details.
  • Welcome and good luck!
  • TX for the kind words girls! I hope you are also doing well! I joined on topic about breakfast, maybe you should visit also. It has some good ideas!

Just a short brief. I did great - went for a swim, ride a bike for 20 minutes and did great with food. I hope I will keep up with that.

It started to snow a little bit here so I am excited :-) That means it will be harder to walk around but I dont mind. I have great hiking, waterproof boots so I think I will manage :-))) It is never too high snow :-(

Pinky - great! We are almost neighbors now! I am glad that you lost so many kg, its a great result! I see that you count now in metric measures, hihihi. I guess that is because you are in Europe. About the e-mailing, maybe we could Private Massage here for now as I am lost in all my e-mail accounts, blogs and so on. I deinstaled MSN and Skype :-) because I cant keep on track anymore....keep on good work everyone...
  • woohooo!! you're doing it!!!

i love swimming as a workout.. i dont know what it does for skin elasticity, but i know it makes me sore the next day, haha!

you said you hoped your english was good - what language do you speak normally? just curious
  • Heeej, yes, I am doing it! :-) This is day 2 and I hope that I will be so enthusiastic for 2 weeks also :-)))

The swimming does MIRACLES for the skin elasticity. I do that regular, on every Sunday, for one hour only! You would not believe what difference you can see after 1 month only! Its phenomenal and I would recommend it to everyone! You put in just 1 hour a week and get a fantastic result!

I did try many kind of sports as I am quite athletic despite my weight and I must say that swimming is THE NUMBER ONE for your body, so if you have a swimming pool near - do not hesitate at all!

I live in Croatia, that is on the Mediterranean and we speak Croatian. It is similar to Serbian or Bosnian language, so that you get some perspective. To Russian in accent, but I can not understand them. I see you did also a good job with weight loss. I am glad for you!
  • You look thin on that picture, you know! :-) And you look great! And you are only 20! OOOOOOOO, nice :-)
  • Hi everyone!
Just for info - I do walk around during the day, not in the evening, but I dont mind. I am doing what I can and feel good about it. I am more or less within range of 1.500 kcal and that is great. I did ate 2 slices of cake yesterday at work but what can I say? The colleague was celebrating birthday so it happened :-) No one died because of it and I am trying to think about it in that manner.

I am still optimistic about all this but rather unpatient.
