Key West Meet & Greet?

  • OK ladies, the trip got bumped back to January 23-31. That's when I will be in Key West, which means I have 61 days to lose 15 lbs. I have no idea what my tickie says my weight is, but very likely, it's lying.

61 days is somewhat short notice to plan a Meet & Greet, but airfare isn't horrible. We're actually flying into Key West this time instead of Ft Lauderdale or Miami and doing the drive down, which would have been the cheaper option.

And the Sauce Boss (referenced in Jimmy Buffett's song "I Will Play for Gumbo") will be playing down there while we're there too! WOO HOO! Saw him 3 years ago when I was there. I'm ready for the trip! Who's with me?????

    Lisa
  • Seriously?
  • I wish! Key West is WAY cool!
  • Can't do it! We'll be in Michigan for a wedding
  • Have a cute tropical drink for me at sunset and say hey to the strange toed kitties...
    sigh.
  • Key West in January sounds wonderful, but there's no way I can make it. Someone have a Margarita or two for me, though.
  • Party poopers. :P

Cat, I have visited with the kitties several times. They're all named after famous people. My favorite is Charlie Chaplin.

No one is going to Meet Me in Margaritaville? So sad. Sauce Boss is awesome too.
  • Lisa can you smuggle one of those kitties out for me? I want 1!
  • Well, thank you very much for the invitation! I will actually be in Florida on 1/23. Unfortunately, the other end of it.
    And with two kids.
And who is the Sauce Boss?
  • The Sauce Boss (Bill Wharton) and his band play blues and are very talented. They cook gumbo on stage throughout their shows and once they're done, they serve it to the crowd.

"The Sauce Boss does his cooking on stage
Stirring and a' singing for his nightly wage
Sweating and a' fretting from his head to his toe
Playing and buffetting with the gumbo"

From "I Will Play For Gumbo" - Jimmy Buffett

Very entertaining. Where will you be Schmoo? Key West is.... kid..... friendly.... Well, our parents took US there when we were kids, at least. And look how we turned out!
  • Oh and Kier, I think they might notice the kitty since it would have six toes on each foot. Dead giveaway that it was smuggled from Hemingway's house.
  • Weez, Orlando. And we fly home on the 23rd. Have a great time!
  • I REALLY wish I could go. I love my margaritas and haven't been back to Florida since my 20 year high school reunion when Brian was a baby. But, I've got to be here to take him to school so there is no way I can make it.
