  • I take Vit D, iron, folic acid and Fish Oil now for various medical conditions, I'm wondering if I should add a multivitamin, if so, which one, brand name or Walgreens etc ...
  • I take the Rite Aid version of One A Day for Women
  • I take multi-vitamin, omega-3, chromium, magnesium and alpha-lipoic acid.

BTW, were you diagnosed with anemia? I was just reading a book where they mention that most people actually have plenty of iron and they actually suggested taking vitamins that do not have iron in it as excess iron can be very harmful. Of course, every individual situation may differ.
  • I take a multivitamin with iron, actually a prenatal vitamin because my Gyn told me to. I've never been anemic in my life, but when I described how much I was bleeding monthly now that I'm 'of a certain age,' she gave me a scrip for prenatal vitamins. Sigh. And a calcium supplement in addition, because the regular doc said I need to stock up now that I'm so old to avoid osteoporosis. Double sigh.
  • I take Nature's Bounty Your Life for women. Its a complete vitamin & mineral supplement....with fish oil, probiotics & ester c.
  • I take Deva Multivitamin and mineral supplement. I also take Glucosamine.

Hi KDuffer, Yes, I am quite anemic and no one seems to know why... I've had a bunch of tests done...I've got a lot of 'chronic' stuff going on could be meds ? The iron is prescription strength... I guess I need to push these docs to be more specific... I googled multivitamins and was overwhelmed lol .. guess I have to get reading...........
  • I've tried all kinds of multi vitamins, even those that say no iron, and they all tend to make me constipated. Now I take c, b, e and double doses of vitamin d, as it's great for depression and is now highly recommended for preventing breast cancer - which runs rampant through my family.

If you're getting the right veggies and salad and such, you shouldn't need too much of a vitamin.
  • I take so many supplements - more than drugs! I buy the Women's vitamins at Costco, I take D, Magnesium, Glucosimin, Fish Oil, B-50 complex and Calcium in addition to a low-dose aspirin a day. So yea - I take a multi-vit!
  • I take a Prenatal vitamin, Fish Oil and Probiotics. Around my menstrual cycle, I take an additional iron supplement (along with heavy doses of fiber and water) as I'm prone to anemia.
  • I take a multi, fish oil, calcium, and an extra D. I also take a baby aspirin.

In a perfect world we would get all our vitamins from the food we eat. This is not a perfect world!
  • I take a multi, fish oil, D with calcium (osteoporosis runs in the family), glucosamine, extra E and C and Q10 for the skin
  • I take a Flintstones. My stomach has never been able to handle the regular adult vitamins. XD
  • I take the One A Day (makes me nauseous if taken with hot beverages right away), fish oil, Biotin, and Super B-complex.
  • I started taking Target's version of Woman's One a Day a couple of weeks ago. I don't always remember to take it, though!
