My gym clothes are too small!!!

  • AAAAck.

So I've been really bad about my health the last few months. I moved to a new city, started a new (stressful) job, etc. I am a stress eater so you can imagine how that's been going. I'm working a billion hours a week, so I basically go home, eat/sit in front of the TV for an hour and go to bed.

I've now reached my tipping point, I'm 10-15lbs over what I'm comfortable with. I realized this because I am fitting into fewer and fewer of my work clothes which is not ok.

SOOOO, most of my gym clothes are ALSO TOO SMALL. They're all tight and clingy and uncomfortable. I have one pair of shorts (that used to be loose and now are tight, but doable), and a couple T-shirts. Guess I will be doing a lot of laundry.

    How depressing...
  • Happened to me too, but a couple weeks back into it they're starting to fit better again. Just have to really work on that motivation for a couple weeks. That was the hardest part of getting back into the swing of things.
  • That's gym clothes for you, room for 10-15 pounds. Some of my non-stretch clothes don't even forgive 5 pounds.

Those gym clothes will be comfortable in no time
  • I guess that's what makes it especially bad -- when soft, loose, elastic waistband type clothing is uncomfortable!!!

Hopefully this crappy feeling will give me the motivation to do something about it.

Part of me wants to buy some new clothes to make exercise more pleasant, but most of me doesn't want to endorse this badness.
  • Hmm. If you were me, I'd say go for it. New gym clothes are motivation to GO to the gym, even if your pride is at stake at the clothes store. Just get one pair of something comfortable for now and soon you'll be in those old clothes in no time. You can probably get a decent pair of capri length workout pants at wally world for less than $10.
