Bummed, binged last night on pizza

  • Sad hello,

I am bummed, I feel like I have to turn in my imaginary 1 week "sober" chip and start over again. I went to party with DH last night (its hard to get a overnight sitter so we can really stay out late) I was being so good! I said no thank you to all the yummy booze, but around 11, they ordered cheese and veggie pizzas ...it smelled soooooooooooooooooo good, it just triggered the animal in me, I was hungry, it was late and it was like a switch in my brain just went.... "oh F it!" I mean, I made allowances to have a few small snacks at the party, but there really wasn't anything to nibble and by the time the pizza got here I was hungry and once I started, I just went back and back.

Oh well, tiny little folded flag ceremony for my week and a half binge free, just wanted to vent so I could purge the guilt and not have it start a new binge today... today is a new day, I guess, I'm just sad
  • Don't worry about it... Just start again and put it behind you. We all make mistakes. It's not important that you binged, it's important that you get up, dust yourself off and get back on your plan without delay.

I had pizza a couple nights ago and ate about 1500 calories (5 pieces) worth haha. I weighed myself at weigh-in time and still had lost 3.5 lbs that week. So, it didn't do any harm. I do understand the guilty feeling though ;-)
  • As long as you get back on plan it doesn't matter. You might be up a pound today...but who knows, overall you still might have lost. The body is funny like that sometimes.

Parties happen, and sometimes you're hungry and just want to have that slice of pizza. It happens, and you'll be no worse for it if you keep back on plan.
  • That's okay. You learned something. There was nothing to nibble--you were starving by then, etc. etc. Plan for it next time--eat more satiating foods before you go--carry something in your purse in case you do get hungry. That way if you do want a piece of pizza you won't have to over do it. Just get right back on plan. We become what we practice every day.
  • Don't be bummed! We have all been there. A week ago DH and I had a date at a great pizza place. We ate almost the entire XL pizza between the two of us and it sure tasted good!

I am new to 3FC and am doing WW at home. I am not weighing myself. I am stricktly going by how my clothes are fitting. That way, I am not getting discouraged if I see the scale go up. I know this doesn't work for most people. I got so tired of seeing the scale go up when I knew that I had a great week. Anyway, the next day after eating all that yummy pizza, I just stayed OP and life went on. Don't beat yourself up. TODAY IS A NEW DAY!
  • I binge about once a month, the thing that keeps me clean the rest of the month is remembering how horrible I felt after the binge. Aside from guilt and shame, I usually feel physically ill and exhausted the next day. After a few weeks, the memory fades and I do it again, lol.

Just get back on track, slips happen, its what you do after wards that really counts.
  • thank you everybody! you really help keep me going!
