Well I'm back. Its been about 2 months since I fell off track. Not really sure how it happened. I had lost about 10 lbs and then bam, just fell off. I really want to get back on. I guess when my husband started working nights is when it went down hill. I have no time for the gym now. I've got to get the boys and come home do homework, feed and bathe them and then get to bed to do it all again the next day. I felt so much better when I had the time to devote to myself. How do the rest of you make the time? Especially with families? What are you doing food wise?
Thanks for listening,
Brandy
Hey Brandy,
Don't give up! It's okay to fall off the wagon, but what matters is that you get back on again. You CAN do it! I don't have a family, and it sounds really hard when you have so much happening in the evenings, so it would be difficult to find time to exercise. Is your hubby home earlier in the day so you can get away for an hour? What about doing an exercise video after the kids go to bed, or early in the morning? I know it's easier said than done. I can hardly find the time and all I have to worry about is myself!
I'm just going for walks around my neighbourhood. I tell myself I'm just going around the block, but when I get out there, I walk longer, up hills etc.
But I'm no saint! I've just had a week-long binge and nearly threw in the towel. But I got back on here and read about how many people have been successful, and the one thing they all had in common was they stuck with it.
As for food, I'm on a program of 1200 calories a day. In theory, that should be little enough that I'll lose weight without planned exercising. If I do exercise, I notice how much more I lose, but I also know how much more hungry it makes me!!! But I definitely agree with the 80/20 principle - losing weight is 80% food, and 20% exercise. I may be wrong, but I think as long as you eat well, then even if you don't get in any exercise for that day you're still on track!
Best of luck!
I am totally on the same boat. I just feel off the boat for 2 weeks...I ate sooo badly.
We can do this! Let's kick some weight-loss BOOTY
Thanks for the support girls!
Nikki, my husband gets home at 4 am and leaves again at 3 PM I work from 730 am till 530 PM. We only really are each other on Sundays. By the time my boys get to sleep its around 9 PM so I really don't want to work out that late. I could do it early in the am. I just need to motivate myself to do it! My hubby has a job interview for a day time position so I am SO hoping it falls through so I can get back to some type of routine!
Finding a routine is key. I totally agree.
If I call off my routine, it all kinda all falls apart. The routine sets me free - but on the other hand it can make me feel like I have no life and an getting old already! -- Where's the balance?
