Counting Down. I don't think the time of the day matters, because everyone has a different schedule (like yours, for example). I do follow a personal rule of not eating less than 3 hours before bedtime, only because I feel awful when I wake up the next morning.
If you plan out your calories for the day, I think you can eat them all at once or distribute them throughout the day and the effect should be the same. There are different schools of thought on the matter, so this is just my take on it.
