I am 5 feet tall and 5 feet wide...

  • Today is my first day on 3FC. I have never used on-line support before. I have always been very tiny until ten years ago I gained 10 pounds a year. I now have Type II Diabetes. I told my mom that she has twins now since there are two of me instead of the one that she brought into the world in 1961. I need help from all of you that know what it is like to struggle with our weight, exercising and diet. I have the tools but I do not have the will power. I have to do something so I am asking for your help today. Please be my weight loss buddy. I will take any advice.
  • Welcome to the group!

Here's a little magic to help get you going:

  • Hello and welcome! My advice is find a program that you can stick with for the long haul; anything that is too restrictive or complicated can be hard to do long term, in my opinion. Also, take it one day at a time. Finally, I think doing some sort of exercise in addition to a healthy eating plan is key. If you don't like to exercise, start with something that is simple like walking, and then commit to do it at least 3-4 days a week.

Good luck with your weight loss journey!

    Cheers,

    J

  • there is so much good information here, and lots of people that will answer your questions, cheer you on, and pick you up. take your time, don't get overwhelmed. look around the different threads and see what interests you: different food plans, exercise, challenges - there is a lot. but there's no hurry, just take it in as you can.
good luck, you made a great start signing up!
  • Hi and welcome.

I have found one of the most helpful things to be recording for a week everything you eat/drink. When you have a week of omg! did I really eat that? in front of you, it can help to decide how you're going to tackle it.
