A sad case....

  • Well, it makes me sad and may touch others too. I have gone from about 120 lbs to 145 in....maybe 4 months. Yeah, no lie. 145 may not seem bad, but I am literally not able to function at a weight higher than 130, I've learned this in the past and it's true again! My body becomes fatigued quickly, I don't feel like doing ANYthing, I get depressed, self-concious, sick.

I have Chrons disease and in May I was admitted to the hospital, ill, dehydrated and at the time quite thin 118 lbs at 5'6". They had to put me on prednisone along with other medicines that caused.....the munchies and I mean the munchies. Like, 'a family pack of oreos are not enough for a snack' munchies. From, these munchies I have had a chocolate chip cookie diet for the past 3 months. I get those because my local supermarket sells SUCH good ones for a decent price. It sounds pathetic but that's my downfall, chocolate chip cookies. Guess, I'm a sweet junkie and binge eater.

I also have an 8 month old baby boy. After, I had him I went from 170 to 120 in a very short time. So I was proud. Then my Chrons flared-up. And was forced onto the meds, otherwise I'd die.

I know, I know 145 really may not seem bad to some. But, because of the prednisone I also have the 'moon' face. That's a sign of taking that medicine haha. It tends to make me look a lot heavier.

I started my diet yesterday. I'm happy. But today, I couldn't and still can't get my promise ring off my right ring finger! I'm going to cry. Two years ago when he gave it to me, I had to have it made smaller because I was thin! Now, I can't move it!

I am going to walk every day. That's my starting goal is to just get out and walk. I go to college 3 nights a week, and I feel that's enough exercise for those days. But the other days I'm going to take walks with my baby as I finally got a bigger stroller.

My goal is to be 115 lbs by the time I'm 21, March 18 2010!!! That's not too unrealistic is it? I don't want to just LOSE the weight, I want to get TONED and keep it OFF for good!!!! I am most comfortable with my weight being 115-120. I feel that is MY ideal weight, everyone has there own so don't judge me please.

Thank you all for reading! I hope to find others here to bond with in this journey!

  • Welcome to 3FC and good luck with your goals!
Oh and for dealing w/all that prednisone. I've been on/off it quite a few times and cannot begin to explain how much I hate it. I understand how much it helps but I feel like we pay such a high price for taking it xoxo Good luck!
  • I agree with Michelle. It does not matter the weight... the point is YOU are uncomfortable. Good for you for recognizing it before you spun out of control.

Have you looked into a gluten free diet? I have heard it helps control flare-ups.

Keep busy with that sweet baby boy, and I bet you will be on track in no time!
