How do you measure honey? I find it so hard to measure honey because of its consistancy. A tsp may actuallly be a tbsp but who knows? Half of it gets stuck on the spoon anyway.
Do you have a food scale with zeroing capacity? It's great for foods that are difficult to measure, because you can put your food bowl on it, press the zeroing key. Add a food or ingredient (in this case, honey). Note the measurement. Calculate the calories (a tsp of honey weighs 21 grams and has 20 calories - or approximately 1 calorie per gram).
Spray your spoon with a cooking oil spray (or, if you don't use cooking spray, put a drop of oil in and rub it around). The honey will slide right out!
Thanks for the advice, I'll try zeroing out my scale and then pouring into my bowl.
Hmmm, honey, yogurt, and oil? Not sure I want to try that unless it's a savoury dish but thanks I'll keep in mind.
It doesn't taste like oil -- just makes the spoon slick!
Just make sure not to use olive oil spray - that will leave an off flavor.
