I need a last 20 pound calorie counting buddy.... anyone in?

  • Me too Tiffany...I was at my goal of 140..for two months (I've only EVER gotten as low as 138.5 when sick) and now things are up around 147 :S. It is TOM and my eating lately is just horrible. I am trying to track calories but the temptations are winning :-(. Funny how when I was 230 I could say "NO!" no junk food and its so much easier to give in now.

    I have a mini goal of 10 pounds.. but ultimately I'd like to lose around 20.

    I'd like to jump in on this if that's cool with all of you. I'd like to drop about 23 lbs, 208 to 185. I have been looking around the forums and I didn't seem to fit in anywhere. One, I'm a guy and two, I don't need to loose a lot of weight.
    About 5 years ago I was my heaviest at 245 and two years ago my best of 185(high school reunion). 185 is great for me and Ive slowly crawled away from that.
    Anyway, I would love to have a place to check in and bounce ideas and problems, but, if any of you are uncomfortable with a guy here or would just rather not have one here, please just let me know. I WILL NOT take it personally.

    Mickmo.. I can't speak for everyone else but I have no problem with a guy here! Everyone is welcome in my opinion.

    I'm not entirely sure what to do.. Hmmm. There is already a September chat section for featherweights. I wonder if it's ok if I start a 'Last 20 pound calorie counters' chat??? Any suggestions?
  • Juliebee, I think starting a chat here is a great idea. I'll start:

    I've decided Fridays will be my official weigh in day. I tend to check a few times a week but Friday is the only one I count. What I have done is made a deal with my kids. For every pound I lose, I give them a buck. This way, at least while I'm with them, they keep an eye on me and give me a hard time if I start to eat anything crappy or tell me to order the salad and no appetizer, etc. They like looking up nutrition info for me on my phone too, I hate doing that. I think it'll be the best $51 I've spent in a long time. (17 lbs x 3 kids = $51) There is a 4th, but he's only 3, I can pay him in crayons.

  • Good idea, you can definitely count me in. I have about 13lb more to loose before I get to my goal. I hope to get to my goal sooner than December so I really have to work hard. I will try to update this as much as possible possibly every 2 weeks...
