Confession time! I completely screwed up last night. I havn't seen my best friend in a while and I havn't actually gone out in over 4 months. So last night I was having such a great time that I ended up getting drunk which I never actually try to do because I usually hate how it feels. That's not the worst part though. Right after that my friend and I went to the diner to eat, drunk still at 3:30 am. I totally wasn't thinking and I ate a cheeseburger! UGH! I really feel so gross now and it's not just from the drinking! I forgot how I feel when eating meat and it's not pleasant! Anyone else here ever do somthing similar under the influence? Thanks for letting me vent.

the worst i did drunk was have some milk shake lol dont worry, and dont be so hard on yourself, im sure it happens weither it was a cheese burger or a milk shake it happens. i got your back lol!

i've been guilty of eating cheez its and chex mix when i'm drunk so slip ups happen. don't beat yourself up over it just next time you drink try and not get to the point where you would eat meat. *hug*

I had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich on WHITE bread...ew...last night when i was drunk. i never ever ever eat white bread, or sugary jelly, or unnatural peanut butter...

I wasn't under the influence but there was a slip up of sorts for me yesterday.

One of my co-workers is an older gentleman who cracks me up because he's a right wing conservative but if anyone should be a liberal it should be him. He's like an old hippie who doesn't want the stereo type so he goes the extreme other way.

Anyway, he doesn't understand me but he respects me so we get along fine. Yesterday he came up to me and said "You're vaygan right?" I think he was trying to say vegan - which I'm not but he doesn't know anything about people who don't eat meat so I said "Uh, sure." He very proudly gave me this cold cucumber soup that was a two day process to make with ingredients fresh from his garden. It was indeed tasty but there was just one taste in there that was odd to me and not quite right. I asked him how he made it and he told me so enthusiastically about the process and then says "Now they say to use vegetable broth, but I use chicken broth because that is the best!" Bingo!

In any event, I did get his recipe and I will be making it myself.. but with vegetable broth

Hey, forgive yourself and move on. Unless you have been a vegetarian from birth and have never had meat, you are a convert, and converts backslide occasionally. You are doing your best to be a vegetarian for whatever reason, and that is all you can do.

Thank you all for your kind words, I'll try not to get THAT trashed next time lol! I really don't drink often in the first place so I guess it effected me a bit more than I expected.

Gack, no never. The thought repulses me and I've been drunk plenty of times since going vegan. Maybe it's time to reevaulate why you're veg?

I wouldn't go that far. I don't miss meat, not at all. I just wasn't actually thinking at the time I did it. I know that avoiding animal products isn't just good for the animals it's also very good for me. Unfortunately just because I stopped eating it doesn't do away with the 27 year old habit instantly for me but everyday it does get better. Old habits die and new habits are formed yada yada yada.

Hmm I guess. I don't relate to eating something and not considering what is in it.

Trust me if I was sober at the time it would not have happened. I think there would be a bigger issue here for me if I DIDN'T feel horrible about it after. Thanks for the input though! I really hope to be able to think the way you do somday, maybe this kind of thing wouldn't have ever happened in the first place.

That's what happens when you are drunk, you don't consider what is in it. Haven't you noticed people who are drunk do really stupid things ? Everything seems like a good idea when you are drunk.

I can't really relate because even when I've been super drunk, I'm still aware of what I'm doing. I don't drink anymore though, other than maybe once or twice a year a glass of wine or a beer.

I don't drink but the other day my little brother was getting him and myself some cereal and our bowls were next to each other and took a bite of his by mistake which had real milk. It made me super sick and I forgot how nasty milk tasted.
