    to the September exercise thread! We're making exercise a habit, giving ourselves some accountability, and getting healthier in the process!

    In this thread, we track the number of MINUTES we exercise for the month -- whether it's walking or swimming or sweaty housework! Most of us set goals for ourselves (I personally will not exercise much without a goal). If you are a goal-setter, early in the month set your own goal! If you're just getting started, feel free to start with a smaller number of minutes (I did!), maybe just a few hundred. It seems easier for many of us to build on the habit rather than meet a very high goal right away. However, you can also just jump right in without a goal, and you can join us anytime in the month!

    In 2007 the 300+ club exercised 205,352 minutes. Let’s break that record!

    To keep track, just add your minutes to the existing group’s minutes. If you’re new, look at what other people are doing – it’s pretty easy to figure out! To help everyone keep things straight, please note the OLD minutes and the number of NEW minutes you are adding, such as
    Group total ~ 500 + 50 = 550 minutes

    We've made a great start and I'd love to see us hit 20K minutes again for August!!! What do you say chicks and roosters??

  • I'm thinking that my September exercise goal will be 1200 minutes. It's higher than I was initially thinking given how busy things get, but I think I want to challenge myself.
  • I'm in again.... my goal will be 1800 minutes this month.
  • I think I'm going to shoot for 2,000 minutes in September; although I passed 2,000 mins in August, we will be shutting down the pool after Labor Day, and I'll be in class/my internship, so I'll have to bust my butt to get in the minutes, but I do love a challenge.
  • I am going to make my first goal 500 minutes!

    I am hoping in future months that will increase, but considering now I am doing approximately 0 minutes, I am excited about setting a goal!
  • hmm, I'm not going to get overboard and I'll...hm, 30 x 40 mins sounds good enough.

  • I have really slacked on exercise this summer and my weight shows it.My goal is 1000 min , but Im hoping to do much more!
  • Did 30 minutes+ today.
  • Today's Exercise:
    -35 mins Elliptical
    -30 mins Strength Training
    -40 mins Cardio Dance DVD

    Personal Total: 105/2,000 mins.

    Group Total: 30 + 105 = 135 mins.
  • 60 min walking

    Group total ~ 135 + 60 = 195 min
  • Yesterday:

    2 1/2 hours (estimated) !!! of walking around the mall. My eyes and my feet are satisfied -- 150

    today:
    10 min of stairclimbing
    10 min of walking

    Total = 170 / 1200
    Group Total = 195 + 170 = 365 min
  • Today's Exercise:
    -35 mins Elliptical
    -30 mins Strength Training

    Personal Total: 105 + 65 = 170/2,000 mins.

    Group Total: 365 + 65 = 430 mins.
  • 70 min with my trainer!

    Group total ~ 430 + 70 = 500 min a nice round number!
  • 30 minutes to do 200 situps.

    500 + 30 = 530
  • 25 minutes walking 9-1
    20 minutes walking 9-2

    Personal Total: 45/500

    Group Total: 530 + 45 =575
