Unable to sleep well yesterday night

  • I slept for around 2-3 hours yesterday night and then i was wide awake tossing and turning.
We get lunch in office on Thursdays, so yesterday it was pick up stix. I didn't ate much and tried to make best possible choices of available food (tried to fill myself up with salad, no dressing and brown rice) and no way went over my 400 calorie limit. But the quantity of food within that caloric range was very less and I end up feeling hungry after that. I still had that 'hungry' feeling after dinner. Then, after no sleep at night I was starving at 4 a.m in the morning. I had some whole wheat crackers and carrots at 4 in the morning, then a huge breakfast with 3 egg whites on a wrap(200 cal).
I am still not over that hungry feeling and have done some binging after that. Do you think this is because of not getting enough sleep? I feel bit weak also
I am not able to figure out why I am not able to sleep well these days? Can it be because of diet, exercise or something else. This sleeplessness phenomena is becoming a common occurrence which is leading to binge eating.
  • What is your daily calorie target? Sometimes when someone is tired and starving it's because they are not eating enough to sustain them.

  • 1200-1300 calorie per day. I keep track of protein and fiber too and aim at 60 gm of protein and around 25-30 gm of fiber
  • Sometimes when you are tired you body craves food to get some energy.

When I go eat out I usually try to look at the menu options before I go so I know what to eat- if I still feel hungry later I eat fruit
  • I always have trouble sleeping, esp hungry!
  • Depending on your age and exercise level, you might want to consider increasing your calories. I think that low day may have simply been too much for your body to take--and so you're hungry.

FWIW, 200 calories is not a huge breakfast. You could eat twice that for breakfast and still be OK.

My suggestion would be that you raise your average daily calorie target to 1400 and see how that goes.
