  • I just found a really cool article about edible flowers that I thought you all might enjoy...

I'm definitely going to have to try this one out

Has anyone else eaten edible flowers?
  • I love them and they look so pretty!
  • We used to eat certain flowers when we were kids... I guess that stopped along the way. I looked at that list. I've never thought about eating squash blossoms before. I wonder how they taste--- I have a garden full of them right now.
  • I've eaten rose petals, very tasty!!
  • Of course I like squash blossoms battered and fried, BUT, they can also be tossed into soups and salads. Traditionally they are used in quesadillas in Mexico and added to eggs like omlettes and fritattas in Europe. The flavor is very mild, and the color really perks things up.
  • I never thought about eating flower petals, but it totally makes sense. Thanks for the article fittnessgal!
  • I love squash flowers. Since I no longer eat fried things, I just slice, then toss them them into a zucchini saute with garlic and thyme.
I like nasturtium flowers in salad, they add a great peppery kick.

i had rose flavored candy once. Tasted like perfume
  • when you eat a rose petal you can tell it's a rose petal but it doesn't taste perfumey at all! It's not sweet and cloying like the smell.
