Pedometer and cheating

  • I know you are supposed to get from 6-10 thousand steps a day for weight loss. Is it cheating to jog in place? Does jogging in place have the same affect as treadmill or streets?
  • Jogging in place is great! It isn't the same as being on the treadmill or outside but it does get your heart rate up and can burn calories.
  • Yep, I agree with nelie .... As long as your moving you're burning calories... My GF last week said after we had done 35k of biking and working up a huge sweat, «Too bad biking doesn't burn calories!» I almost did a back flip and I immediately corrected that myth she had heard... Ok, if you're just coasting you're not burning calories, but the way we were biking, we were burning major calories....

    Sorry to get off topic here but all that to say that you burn calories as long as you're getting your heart rate up... so YES you do burn calories jogging in place...
