An overnight scale check

  • I decided to work the sparkpeople.com website questionnaire to see how many calories it takes to lose lbs. per week. My range is 1330-1680.
I used Weight Watchers healthy guidelines and tried very hard to use the web site and truthfully did a good job. I also had the online site analyze what I had done and it was nice to see that I was within the healthy ranges that they want. I also weighed myself on my scale before I ate just to see how I did for this morning and remember I'm only losing an average of a pound a week on WW.

Well, this was shocking because I lost a pound overnight, not for the entire week.

I am very curious what kind of loss I will have for the next weigh day and also I won't know when I can weigh in because I won't have my work schedule until tomorrow but I do know that calories are easier to find online, easier to work with when you get the N.I. in restaurants and just on the labels themselves. I am very hopeful that this may very well be the answer because I am just doing very mediocre with WW and have been blaming it all on my age, activity, etc. It may not be my fault after all.
  • Fluctuations of up to a 5 lb difference a day can happen.

I usually lose 2-3 lbs a night. I may weigh 215 by bed, then get up in the morning and am 212 again. That's why having one official weigh in a week helps to show an overall trend of your weight

My weight fluctuates 2-3 lbs everyday. One day I might be 212, then the next 214, then 213, then 211, it's frustrating lol.
  • I'm always about 2lbs lighter in the morning than I am at night.
  • I can lose up to 10 lbs overnight, but typically drop 4-6 lbs from my before bed weighing to my morning official weigh in.
  • I think I actually lost weight. I'll see how it goes at weigh in with WW. That scale is mean... it is tuned to the nth degree and of course our home scales aren't calibrated as well but I did see something change. That was super encouraging.
  • Let us know how it goes!
