40-something single and overweight...

  • THis is the worst combination. Ugh! I am trying to find the strength to keep on this...................

  • Stick to it, u will feel so much better about yourself. The confedience u gain will attract any man u want!!
  • NCGAL, you can do this! I second Jokan's note - that the confidence you build by taking control and putting your health first, is what is ridiculously attractive to guys. Build these good habits now, while you don't need to focus on anyone else, so that when you are in a relationship you don't backslide and end up right back where you were. Don't do this for a guy ... do it for YOURSELF because YOU ARE WORTH IT!!!!!
  • Stick to it and it'll get better Before you know it, you'll be saying 40-something, feeling fabulous, confident, and great!

I know it feels hard, really I do. Many times I wished there was something I could do make it better overnight. Fortunately, or unfortunately, that overnight solution is our attitude, because the changes in weight and everything else takes time. But once those changes start taking place, you realize they ARE taking place, and that feels good, really good. As time passes (and it always does), you will find yourself in a much better feeling place than you are now. You will be SO GLAD THEN, that you started NOW. It doesn't have to be a struggle
  • Thank you ladies for the encouragement! I have been to the YMCA 3 times this week and going tomorrow! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Good for you, NCGal -- I'm glad you're feeling on track. I totally agree with the others. Do this for yourself; the rest will fall into place. Keep posting and sharing your path. For me, at least, that definitely makes it easier; knowing others are in this with me.
  • Awesome!
  • I'm in the same place you are ncgal, we can both do it! good job on hitting the ymca : ) I just got the ok to start physical therapy so they can teach me what exercises are ok for me to do, will be hitting the gym at work shortly!
  • All the ladies have given you such wonderful advice.

I cannot reiterate strongly enough that until you are happy with yourself, you will not be happy with anyone. YOu need to be good for yourself before you are good for another person. YOU come first! Focus on YOU and the rest will fall into place!

    Keep up the good work!
  • I am also in the same place that you are, NCGal. Have just renewed my vow today to stick with the battle! We can do it!
  • Me too!
I wish for an instant fix, this seems so slow... but when I look at the success stories here and read the support, it seems to help me thru yet another day!

Good luck girls! I am working it too!
