My First Week Calorie Counting Results

  • Hi All,
I averaged 1900 cals a day and lost 2 pounds. It was a bit off since TOM struck this week and I gained for a few days. I am a little disappointed because I thought that I would lose more due to my high starting weight but I know that 2 pounds in a week is a respectable loss. I will stick to this calorie allotment for another week to see if I do better with dreadful TOM to hinder me.
    Thanks all,
    Pennie
  • Well i think at 1900 a day two pounds is great! Especially if you are past those first couple of weeks of water weight loss. I am 36 years old and i can tell a HUGE difference in my metabolism from when i used to diet in my 20's. I basically have to stay under 1500 or less to lose 2 pounds a week. And on TOM week...forget it. But i know how you feel, 2 pounds seems like such a baby step when there is so far to go. You and i are very close in weight, so i know what your going through. I like those 3 or 3.5 pound weeks, but they are few and far between...actually they are usually only after TOM week. But alas, look at this way, at least your two pounds was two pounds in the right direction! Keep on keep'n on.
  • Were you working out? Also 1900 calories while good- if you ate a lot of processed foods your weight won't drop as fast. Specially if anything had high sodium in it.
  • Congrats on your loss
  • Two pounds is great, it's as much as "they" say you should lose a week to be able to maintain it later.

Besides, any lose is good news, so it's certainly something to be proud of!
