Nothing combats a plateau like a good high!

  • runners high that is!

So when I was younger..I used to do walk/run intervals. I remember walking/running the whole neighborhood with a walkman....I didn't care how much time it was really.

I decided to go power walking, I am one of the fastest walkers I know, and we have some great hills around the neighborhood-- and I actually got brave enough to do some light--and I mean LIGHT--JOGGING. I got 4 min of total jogging in..and I actually jogged uphill...it really made me feel so out of shape.

I could only walk/run for 20 min--it was just too hot!...but I finished it up with some dancing. Love to dance.

and that rush of endorphins IS just what I needed to chase my blues from all this stress!. Now a cold shower and I will be good to go!
  • 4 minutes is awesome.
  • Thanks Mug. I still felt like I was going to die!
  • welcome to the joggers/runners high !! It is a fabulous feeling that's a fact
  • Ilene, I think I will do this once a week. I'd have to do it EARLY though...I really enjoyed the "high".

I get it on my bike too when I use my arms...I just found out today. and it's so much cooler in here!
  • The heat gets to me too... I see you're in SC so it is very hot right now there ...
  • yes...it took everything to get out in the sun and water my garden and flower beds....ewww.hot! Is canada cooler?
  • Right now Eastern Ontario is WET it's rained every day on and off for the last month, maybe more... today it's humid too. This has been an unusually damp summer but usually we have nice summers, hot and sunny and it makes it hard to run...for me anyways...
