what brand/kind of scale do you use?

hey everyone! i was just reading a thread about scale accuracies and i was just curious... what brand/kind of scale do you use, is it digital or no? do you like it, have you have any problems with it?

i bought a Weight Watchers digital scale about a year ago and so far i like it but i have to position it just right on our tile floor or it gives me some odd readings. has anyone else tried this brand? if so, what did you think of it? i am just wondering if there is a different or certain type of scale that everyone uses and loves that maybe i should invest in or if mine is just fine. thanks!

I have a Tanita Large Capacity Scale. It was $70 and I have never had a problem with it. I would highly recommend it to anybody.

may i ask where you got your scale? i think i got mine at lowes but it was the only kind they had.

I have a Weight Watchers Digital Scale as well, and get odd readings on mine sometimes too...

Depending on the type of tile floor you have this may not be unusual. We have what I'd describe as a sculpted tile (with high bits and low bits) and I just pick a specific tile and use it. Doesn't matter in the end if it's high or low, it still changes. I could drag it into the laundry room, where we have a very flat linoleum but there's no free space there to store it. Without thinking one day I plopped it down on a hard rubber map one day and lost about 20 pounds. Although I just checked and I get less that half a pound's difference moving it about.

Oh, and mine is a Tanita as well.

I also have a Tanita scale and love it. We have tile floors, but they're smooth so it's not a problem - I just check to be sure the scale is resting on the tile and not in a grout line. The only thing I would change about it is to have 1/4 pound increments.

Here's the info on the one I have.

TANITA 2204 BODY FAT SCALE

Scale with increments of .5 pounds for weight, 1% body fat.
