Greetings My Lovelies!

  • I'm excited. Not annoying-excited but delightful-excited only because I've found a place where EVERYONE ... hopefully everyone ... understands WHY I eat my emotions, WHY I can be hard on myself and WHY it's important for me to slam my goal into place.

You guys GET it. Right? Yea, I know you do.

    So my details:

    April 2008 - 175 pounds @ 5'1"

    August 2008 - 135 pounds

    Current weight July 2009 - 145 pounds

    VICTORY - 120 pounds

Do-able yes? Yes I believe in my heart this is so. I've done it before so I'm doing it again.

    My plan:

Lean protein - chicken breasts, fish, shellfish, tofu, lentils ... are lentils considered protein? *shrugs*

High fibre & Complex carbs - cereals, mult-grain, rye, flax, brown rice, wild rice, so on and so forth

Veggies! - ALL OF THEM ... that taste good ... MUST taste good or forget it. Blech!

Fruits - ALL OF THEM ... and yes I'm aware of the 'sugar' in fruits but come on now, can eating be FRUIT of all things be a BAD thing? No, I don't think so.

Snacks - genmai-cha green tea, peanut butter, soy ice cream, popsicles, crispy minis *gasp*, dark chocolate, sugar-free jello (I like BLUE!) and whatever else that's considered 'good'

AAAAAND ... cardio! Dun dun duuuuuuuuuun!

I'm also going to mix in one cheat day wherein I eat WHATEVER but not to the point of throwing up but things like KFC or chinese food will be allowed. *nods*

So here I am. I'm exposing myself to all of yous and I'm okay with that. Can't wait to follow your stories! Let's do this together shall we?

    YES. LET'S.
  • Hi and welcome to 3FC!

    Hugs
    Michelle
  • Hey there! and I'm glad you've found us!

Your plan looks good - lots of whole foods, lean proteins, and produce. Are you counting a total number of calories per day? Most people find that some kind of tracking (calories, points, servings, etc) is useful in limiting their intake to weight loss levels. After all, overeating can be done with even the healthiest foods, so keeping track can help prevent that and move you toward your goals.

We have forums here by eating plan and age range that you might want to check out, as well as a ton of miscellaneous clubs, groups, challenges, and other things to keep you going. We also have a thread for runners in our "Exercise" forum. So check out any/all of those, then keep posting, and more importantly, keep going.

Can't wait to get to know you better.
  • Hi!!! Your plan looks great! I'm sure you'll be losing those pounds in no time! I love lentils. "With 26% protein, lentils have the third-highest level of protein, by weight, of any plant-based food after soybeans and hemp, and is an important part of the diet in many parts of the world, especially in the Indian subcontinent which has large vegetarian populations."
  • Surf around and settle in! We have forums based on age, eating plan, exercise and more. I'm glad you are here!
