I joined this site about a million years ago during one of my many weight loss attempts.
I am not so good with the introductions but here goes...
I'm 18, from Kentucky. This is probably my 50 millionth time trying, but it's working this time. It seems that I have more determination or something now because I'm not cheating. When I want something really bad, I have it. It apparently is working for me because I've lost 30ish pounds now.
What happened to get me started on this journey this time is that I went to the lady doctor and he lectured me on my weight for a very long time. I realize that weight has a lot to do with health issues, but have you noticed that when you go to the doctor with ANY issue it always becomes about your weight? I am very, very tired of that, and it is time for a change.
I use the calorie counter & fitness plans on SparkPeople.com but I find that their forums are set up in a very confusing way, and the vBulletin format is something that I am very used to.
On top of all that, I'm a lesbian, in a committed relationship for almost a year, and I think there might be an *ahem* shiny ring in my future. We'll probably cohabitate long term. At this point in our lives, she is a college freshman and I'm a sophomore, she's majoring in Psychology and I'm majoring in undeclared (haha). We're saving up (slowly) for a far in the future move back to her hometown of Swansea, MA.
I just met my first mini goal of being the weight I was when I first went to the lady doctor (I went back 17 pounds into my accidental weight loss journey, and at that point I had gained 14 pounds in 14 months).
