Shopping NSV and Goal Pants

  • So I went shopping yesterday (been doing that a lot lately, hehe) and saw this blazer on the sale rack but they only had size sixes left, and I thought what they hey and tried it on, and it fit...now if only the rest of me would follow suit! I guess you just have to try stuff on, bc you never know what will fit.

I'm sort of between sizes right now, and I needed a new pair of jeans, so I bought the smaller size and kept the tags on and have a new goal to fit them by labor day. I never buy "goal" clothes, but I thought I'd give it a shot. Anybody else do this/have any luck?
  • I will by pants the next size down as motivation, but only if they're something I like and they're on super sale, since there's the obvious risk that even when they're the correct size they won't fit correctly.
  • I don't usually bother buying "goal clothes," since my closet is filled with them already. What I mean is that almost everything fits me, but some things are pretty tight so when I AM at my goal weight, they should finally fit me normally (without me having to suck in my stomach or be uncomfortable). I'm the type of person who doesn't really enjoy shopping until I am at the size I want, especially because clothes don't always fit how you think they will. With pants, there is usually extra room in the seat, and with shirts, I need more room in the bust....so it's just easier to wait until I actually get to "goal" to buy goal clothes.
  • i recently bought a pair of sale rack $15 jeans at Old Navy that were actually really cute - and one or two sizes too small. I put them on (can't even button them!) with a tight tank top, got my husband to take the BEFORE photo, and they are now hanging on my bedroom wall for motivation! Hopefully I can soon take on with the button done up
  • I've toyed with the idea of buying "inspirational" clothes... But I've had such a bad history of starting and quitting that that might be a bad idea for me. But maybe, just maybe, spending the money (especially if said item was really cute) would be a little more motivation to stick with it.
