Has anyone ever done this - is it possible? The few times I have been on an elliptical I have really liked it. I'd like to have one here at the house, but I don't want to spend that much money - I need one of the sturdier ones for 300+ pounds.

Any ideas?

Maybe look on Craigslist? You can often find barely used exercise equipment for great prices.
