fell of the ww wagon :(

  • Hi,
Just finished 9 weeks of ww near the end of June - lost close to 10 lbs, vacationing last week so I've blown things a bit - only up about a 1lb or so guess that's good but I'm back on track this week for sure!
  • WW is a lifestyle we're going to follow the rest of our lives, right? And vacations will happen, and birthdays and holidays. As long as we go right back to what we know we're supposed to be doing the outcome will be good. Congratulations for acknowledging that you got away from the program a little bit, and for promptly returning to what you know you need to do! And congrats on the 10 pounds!

  • At least you can admit you fell off, and then that you immediately got back on the wagon. There is no point in dwelling in the past. Keep looking towards the future..

  • Welcome back! I'm restarting too -- summer is a good time.
  • You know you fell off and the hard part is to dust yourself off and get right back on plan.....I know you can do it!
  • Over the past 12 weeks I've lost a little over ten pounds and then gained back eight and then lost another fourteen. I was so discouraged because I felt I had failed but the important thing, and what I am trying SO SO SO hard to remind myself is that I am human and I'm going to make mistakes. It's so easy to slide backward and so difficult to sludge forward and yet we can all do it! We just have to believe that we can. Think about it how difficult it was that first time you went to a meeting or jumped on the scale. It does get easier with time but life isn't always easy. I am glad that I slid backward and didn't follow program because it motivated me all the more to kick this weight in the butt!! We can do it...one pound, inch, step at a time!!!

    Smiles!

  • The one thing that keeps me on this without messing up is I have a long term goal that I have to meet. We are planning on a cruise in Nov of 2010 for our 38th wedding anniversary and I have to be at a size I can walk around in the hills in the Virgin Islands and on board ship. It is a long walk around those ships and I need the stamina. I cannot go unless I am at a goal weight. I also already bought some cruise clothes in my goal size so that I can't take them back and it keeps me plugging along.

I am having hormonal issues that have kept me at the same week for 2 weeks in a row but I just keep on going, one foot in front of the other, knowing I can do this and you can too. Congrats on the small gain because vacations can be murder!
  • Here's my story...it should make you feel better.

I joined WW almost 2 years ago and lost the first 10%. Then stuff happened, we moved but hadn't sold our old house yet, so we had two mortgages to deal with, we had an ice storm that knocked out our power and we ate out constantly, etc. I just didn't have the time or money to devote to WW, dropped out, half-heartedly tried some different things.

Well as of today I not only re-gained the weight I had lost, I am at my highest non-pregnant weight ever, about 20 more pounds than when I joined the first time. Yikes. But I just signed up for a monthly pass and I'm going to my first meeting in a year and a half tonight.

So as the others have said, it's better to catch yourself now than in a year and a half from now with 35 extra pounds.
