Lindora?

  • Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has or is doing Lindora? Today is my first day on the plan, so I'm hoping to find support. It is really hard because the first 3 days are protein only and not that much of it either! But, I'm determined to stick it out and get it done because I'm at my all time heaviest weight and feel terrible about myself. One year ago, I was skinny at 150 lbs. I really hope I can get back on track and be the person I know I am on the inside. Right now, I literally feel shocked when I see my reflection in the mirror. I don't even recognize myself anymore.

Looking forward to meeting you all. I was here back when I lost all the weight and I guess I"m back again.
  • Never heard of it... whats the plan ?

  • They have an online program, but here in California, they have centers where they give you vitamin shots and weigh-ins. It's very expensive, but eating lots of food is expensive too, so I guess I look at it as the same price, but maybe I'll be at least thinner.
  • Hi Luckymommy, I just started Lindora on Monday, July 13th. So far I have lost 2.5 pounds in three days! You can now buy the book at Rite Aid (in California where I live). I bought the book unstead of signing up for the expensive program. If all goes well, I will sign up for the online support which is cheaper than the clinic.

So far, I find this diet easy because I have done Atkins in the past but find this diet to be so much easier to follow. Both bread and fruit available on a low carb diet in the first week!! Never on Atkins.

How's it going? Still hanging in there?
  • I am in my ninth week out of the 10 week program! I lost over 25lbs over the 8 weeks of weight loss! I went from a size 14 to a size 10! from 189lbs to 162! (which is amazing for my 5'2 height, lol)

I am veryyyy happy that I joined and it was expensive- but now I know it was worth it because my health is worth it! Being vegetarian, I though it'd be hard, but it was totally fine!!

I am leaving california to attend college, so i'll be doing another series to lose my last 30 lbs on my own. The great thing about lindora is that once you're a member, you always are! So, when I return from college, I can still stop in for check ups (haha)! Plus, the online program will work for me when I am at college! Also, I like that you eat other things than processed food (you don't have to use the lindora products, alothough I sometimes do.)

Best of luck to you and maybe we can do this together! I've found some GREAT low carb, high protein foods! haha
  • My best friend is on the Ideal diet, but I could not afford it and looked for alternatives to low carb. I started Lindora 4 weeks ago and lost 13 lbs so far. If you need more structure and live in California that is where you can go. Or you can join the online support group.

Now I am really cheap and bought the Lindora book diet from Amazon called Lean for Life, phase one, used for $3.00. Inside they explain the diet and have sample diets if you use your own food, and other diets if you buy their food or a combination of the two.

Inside the book they also have a chart for each day that you are on. If you don't get the book, they have the charts at their web site for about $4.00

The first 3 days are interesting as you find ketosis and lots of bathroom visits. The low carb, high protein diet is the first time I tried to eat less without being hungry.

I wish 3 Fat Chicks had a forum just for Lindora since so many of us are on it or buying their food. I have been following the Ideal diet site because the ladies sound so nice and are research experts and just plain old fun to read. And their trials and successes help me stay motivated.
  • Hello ladies,

I just wanted to give you all an update. I ended up leaving Lindora and was losing weight on my own. I got down to 165 simply by counting calories. I was almost at my goal weight when something changed in me and I started binge eating again. I gained back almost all of my weight and now, I'm trying to do it all again. I'm back to calorie counting as I find that Lindora was too restrictive for me. I know I can do it, but it's just a matter of staying on course and not letting life stress get me sidetracked.

I wish you all the very best with your efforts. I'm sure you'll do great and hopefully you can give one another support here on 3fc.
  • Hey All,

I'm new to 3FC, but I'm hoping to start Lindora (again) this week. I had great luck with it several years ago when I was almost at 300lbs. I lost 80lbs, quite quickly (3-5 months). It was really hard the first time I did it, because of there only being specific foods to eat, but this time with all the desire I have to lose the weight it will be better. Plus now I'm older and LOVE LOVE LOVE chicken breast and broccoli.

I am an emotional eater and let anything stop me from reaching any of my goals, but I'm hoping you guys will be a support for me as I'm tired of living this way and WANT to make a change.

I have keto sticks and a food scale, but I'm going to the market this week for the foods and I weigh myself at the gym... I want to make this work!

Gonna start back at the gym tomorrow and learn to take control and discipline myself as I was never taught that growing up. The website should provide a sense of accountability.

I've realized life is too short to be waiting to be a better person and have the life I wanted but just to be the better person and that is the life I want!

    --Thank you for reading.
  • sounds like you have the right attitude. I got rid of junk food, and bought what was allowed. "if you don't have a plan to succeed, it is a plan to fail"
This is my 3rd time, once 25 years ago and once 20 years ago.
I was just in the right frame of mind to do something good for myself. But this is the first time that I have ever done low carb and more protein. It is working for me
  • i just started back to weight loss after two weeks of maintenance today is protein day #2. problem is, i also had oral surgery today! i guess it'll be a liquid, yogurt, and pudding protein day tomorrow...words of encouragement would help, as i am finding it sooo hard to resist ice cream and frozen yogurt. maybe i should have waited after my surgery to start the program, but it's too late hopefully i can get into ketosis by day #4!
  • I am going to pray for very quick healing for you. Don't forget eggs and cheese on that protein diet, things that are soft because of your oral surgery.
  • eggs are such a good idea! i forgot about them i'm feeling so much better already and have started the third protein day right! i was in "small" ketosis this morning and had a yummy carbmaster yogurt! i think i'll have an egg soon too! thanks for the prayers!!! i think they truly helped!
  • Anybody on Lindora? I just signed up last week and I'm waiting for my medical evaluation on the 30th. My first protein day is on the 1st and I'm super psyched. I'm 36 and 235lbs, so I'm going to lose 100lbs. Its kind of expensive, but I feel it will be worth it as I am doing this mainly to be in a healthy state to start trying for a baby. My husband and I just got married this July and just returned from our honeymoon last week. It was a cruise and I gained crazy weight! I was already big, but all of the cruise food just made me bloated and gross and in a way put me in a good frame of mind to get motivated and start the next chapter of my life.

I was looking for an online community for Lindora, but I can't seem to find any. Hoping to find support and encouragement and to provide some as well if I can.
  • Hi! I am doing this but following the Rite Aid plan. It does not seem as strict because I don't see any days that are all protien-maybe I missed something. I really like having some carbs but I feel better without lots of carbs. Hopefully this will become a lifestyle change for me and not another diet. Good Luck everyone!
