Saying Hi - looking for a buddy

  • Hi my name is Margaret and I am new to the board. I have been heavy my whole life. I have done the roller coaster thing long enough and it is time to get things done. I am on day 7 of taking phentermine or Adipex P. I am doing really well so far, at day 3 I was already down 5 lbs. I will weigh in again tomorrow for my 1 week weigh in. It has been the greatest thing I have ever done. I am not hungry, I usually have to force my self to eat dinner. It helps me make it through those horrible morning and afternoon munchies I get. It has boosted my energy so I can get up and get going. I am very active for my size and this just makes it that much better.

I am always interested in talking to people in similar circumstances as me and with the same weight loss goals, although I will talk to anyone .

I am married with 3 beautiful kids, I work full time and lead a fairly active life.
  • Hello and welcome to 3FC Sounds like you are finally fed up with the rollercoaster...Congrats! If you keep that determination, it will make the journey easier for you this time!

    Best of luck to you
  • I used to take phentermine and found it suppressed my appetite very well. I hope you continue to see great results! Good luck to you with your weight loss plan.
  • Hi Margaret!!!
  • Hi Everyone - thanks for saying hi, I have my first official weigh in tomorrow morning and haven't peeked at the scale since friday, so I am excited and nervous all at the same time.

I have been sticking to my calorie limits and have gotten my exercise in everyday so it should be good.

    thanks for all the support

    Margaret
  • You've found the magic combo (IMHO) calorie limits and daily exercise!

    Welcome, we're glad you're here.
  • Well I weighed in this morning, and I have started out pretty good. I lost total of 7.4 pounds and 7 3/4 inches this week, which is a total of 15 lbs since June 1. I am hoping the more I exercise and build muscle the easier the exercise will be and the quicker the inches will come off.

I have joined the 1000 miles in 2009 group, with a goal of 400 miles for the rest of the year. I think this will give me something to work towards and a very attainable goal to reach. I have a real hard time when I don't meet my goals so I tend to start with smaller easier goals to give me some early wins to build the momentum.
  • Welcome. Congrats on your accomplishment!
