Using Facebook Profile for Exercise Accountablility - Does anyone else use this tool?

  • I have found such success with journaling within the Weight Watchers plan, I realized that being accountable for what you eat may work in other aspects of my journey. So...every morning when I check Facebook, I say what I am going to do for exercise and when I'm going to do it on my profile. Has anyone else tried this?? I have been unemployed for two weeks, and worried that I would sit and waste my days, but becoming accountable has really worked. My friends make wonderful, inspiring comments on my hikes. My dog is happier and healthier and so am I. Give me your feedback and let me know if this works for you!!

Doing the carrot dance!!! Lost 2 lbs in the last week!!

  • Sorta. I post every time I complete a run and if I have made any new progress with time or distance.
  • I log all my runs on a site called runningAhead and they have now made it possible to integrate with facebook so that it automatically posts an update to my wall. The log is nice for the permanent record aspect and to track your progress. The site is primarily runners, but the log can be used for any kind of workout record.
