P2 at Taco Bell?

  • I'm in P2 now and would like to maybe have Taco Bell after my son's baseball game this evening.

I know Pintos 'N Cheese will work, but what else? Any whole grain tortillas there or is that just wishful thinking?
  • sorry there are no whole grain tortillas at taco bell!
  • Bring your own....Ive done it.

I am not on SB however I try not to eat any "white" carbs. I seriously order pintos and cheese and spread it on a whole grain tortilla that I bring in a baggie in my purse.

Maybe I am a bit strange but I do it all the time at all kinds of "fast food" places.
  • Taco Bell is pretty much a no-go for SBD. It's really pretty unhealthy and has lots of processed food, which makes it a poor choice for SBD.

The cheese in the Pintos and cheese is full fat (3g sat.), which isn't an SBD-safe choice. The beans have trans-fats (hydrogenated oil):

    Quote:
    Beans
Pinto Beans, Partially Hydrogenated Corn Oil (Freshness Preserved With TBHQ), Salt, Calcium Chloride.
If you have no other choice, you may want to check out the nutritional calculator at their website to see what's least harmful.

Personally, I'd avoid it altogether and either make Mexican at home or consider a more healthy alternative like (depending on your location) Baja Fresh, Salsarita's, or Rubio's.

Small town - we don't have any of those places here. I just want to not cook tonight, it doesn't have to be Taco Bell. I'll probably get a grilled chicken salad at Sonic instead.

I mean, I've got homemade refried beans in the freezer and if I have to take my own tortilla anyway I might as well eat that here rather than paying for it.

So Sonic it is, thanks for helping me think this through.
