26 years old, finally had enough!

  • Hi everyone just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Julianna (you can call me that, or Jules ) and I’ve been on countless diets over the years from slimfast, to six week body makeover, to weight watchers. The lowest weight I was at in the last 10 years was about 163, but I’ve rarely been below 200. I’m currently at 209 (5’4) after a 9 pound weight loss over three weeks. I’ve had enough at this point and am pretty determined to lose the weight for good; my long term goal as of now is 145. I’m doing pretty well this time around, but I thought it was time I started developing a support system - I’m hoping to find that here. I still need to find my motivation for exercise as well. Hope everyone is well!
  • Hi Jules,
I'm Kim, 26 also. My breaking point was when I saw a picture of myself at my son's birthday last month. Ouch!! It was bad. I've lost 15 pounds so far, but have a long way to go to get to my goal of 150 pounds. I've found that these message boards are really inspiring and helpful. I also blog to keep myself on track. You can check out my blog if you'd like. It's thejourney26.blogspot.com

Hi Kim! I started reading your blog and will be following you now , and it seems we have more in common than just our age. I too am an emotional eater, who has used her weight as a shield, and doesn’t want to count calories . I also started a blog on the 4th to help me stay accountable. I’ve been using it more as a journal for my own personal reasons, and hadn’t told anyone about it until now. It’s pretty disorganized, and incomplete with only two posts, and no followers or pictures . . . But if you have any interest, it’s theotherwhiteme.blogspot.com !

My eating plan over the past month or so has consisted of a serving of cereal for breakfast (usually special K) with skim milk, a bowl of light soup (Campbell’s selects, Progresso light . . .) for lunch, and a frozen meal for lunch (healthy choice, or lean cuisine). I then fill in with snacks which usually consist of things like, crackers and laughing cow cheese, weight watchers ice cream, Yoplait light, sugar free pudding, and whole wheat bread with organic peanut butter. I sometimes think that it's not the healthiest plan, but it's certainly better than the way I had been eating - and it's working very well for me . This plan helps me keep my portions under control, and so far I haven't felt hungry.

Exercise is another story :/ It's one of those things I've been meaning to add . I friend and I have been discussing started to exercise together, for support purposes. We talked about joining curves or perhaps another gym, but unfortunately neither of us can really afford it, so for now we'll probably start with walking. I've also been wanting to start using my wii fit, and add some strength training. I'm just not there yet.
  • cool! I'll have to check it out. I look forward to seeing you on here more.
