Finally someone noticed!!

  • Well - I knew it would take awhile - but I finally ran into a couple people (different times) that made comments about how great I look.

I actually had someone ask if I had the "surgery". Don't think I am at that drastic of a change, but was great to hear.

Need to keep this memory for the days I am struggling & to remember that those around me are seeing this very, VERY, gradually!
  • Well that's great that people are noticing your progress - congrats!

    Dani
  • YEAH for you!! Keep going!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Woohoooo! Way to go!
  • Yaaay!!!!!!
  • Congratulations - keep it up.

It took 30# loss before people noticed, so I know how you feel.
  • that's awesome, i have lost close to 30lbs and noone has noticed on me, it's kinda depressing... but eventually someone will have to notice right? keep going girl!
  • Congratulations! It must be a big boost!!!!!

Savora - I swear that when I got to 50 off I'm going to take out a newspaper ad. Currently at an invisible minus 42!!!!

    Seriously, FGal, that's great!¬
  • Fishing Gal - congrats!

Savora - have you changed your clothing? I ask because when I first started losing weight most people didn't comment until I was at least 50 pounds down (one or two people noticed). However one guy (yes, it was a guy who first noticed) did point out that since I was still wearing the same clothing that perhaps it was time to get some smaller stuff.
  • Great job. 29lb!!!

Not easily done but achieved. It's great when other people start to notice the changes your making. Not only that, it pumps you up to want to continue your good works. Well done. Anyway, must away, my dog is waiting to take me on a walk. She's a great motivator. I have two Border Collies, one Meg is slim and terrific - willing to go the journey. The other, Jessie, is a bit like me, over size in the rump department. She doesn't like walking and will tell you. Don't know what she'll do when it's time to muster the sheep for shearing. She is totally out of condition.

Anyway, love your lose. Be happy with your success and keep on doing what you're doing - it's working.
  • Good for you. I once had someone ask me if I "caught" AIDS and that was making me lose weight!! Duh....

Side note to have that make some sense. A) I volunteer at AID/HIV clinics and B) the person was completely prejudiced and ignorant. But, I ignored her and took it for what the true intent was....like you said "SOMEONE NOTICED!:
  • That is awesome! Hooray for compliments. I was down about 25-30 when someone first noticed too. Wow, what a great day that was!

By the way, yes I have had some lurkers "hint" about the surgery question. I also had a lady ask me if I had cancer!
  • My next door neighbors asked me about a month ago if I was sick... lol! I told them that I did NOT in fact have cancer. Now she's wanting to lose weight and asking for advice!

You are doing SO WELL. 29 lbs is nothing to sneeze at!
  • Congrats!!! It is awesome when someone notices. I got my first "hey...what are you doing? we've noticed!" when I reached a 30 pound weight loss. Congrats and keep it up!

I think people do notice, but sometimes they don't know if it is okay to say anything. There comes a time when people just can't resist...I've gotten the "every time I see you, you are smaller!" comment ,but that was a few months ago after I had lost over 60 pounds. So, for those who are still waiting for those random encouragements, don't worry. It will come and people do notice. They just may not be very voicey about it!
  • Yay congrats! That is soooo encouraging when someone notices!! My husband is an over the road truck driver so is only home on the weekends. We always "spoon" when we sleep at night and he commented last weekend..hey you feel smaller. LOL Woohoo! It's the little things..lol

It definitely helps when you buy smaller clothes. I only get to weigh once a month on my plan and I still have a week to go..dying to change my ticker LOL But I have definitely lost a clothing size and although I'm keeping my shirts for now I had to buy a smaller pair of jeans and woah what a difference that made in the mirror! So yeah, if you haven't updated your clothes for your new bod, try it! It feels so great!
